Can you "hear" when the TV is on?

Clear as day to me. My gf says she cannot hear it. Everyone can, right?

EDIT: I am talking about the high-pitched sound it makes.

Nope, not anymore. My high frequncy hearing has been replaced by the nasty scream of tinitus.

Yep. One of the reasons I have a projector in the theater and LCD panels in the editing room.

Yes, I can. Sometimes I can also hear a certain noise when somebody is nearby, I've never been able to explain it, but if at night someone is coming near me I can kind of detect this quiet high pitched buzz. Maybe it's some kind of defense mechanism that heightens hearing ability when another person is suspected to be present... just don't know.

And no, I don't hear CIA broadcasts on the fillings in my teeth.
