if we take in account how big the USA gdp is -- we are talking about a difference numbering in the billions and billions..... and billions

Are u sure about that 7.06 number? 14% of my salary go to (mandated) health insurance, and that is onlz the employees part the employer also pays a part for my HI.

I found the same on the who site and on the website of the EU. GDP consist of more then salary. It's possible that indeed 14% of your salary is for the heatlhcare insurance but when you look at the greater scheme of things 7% is the right number.

we pay more for the same US developed and produced drugs than foreign countries, substantially more. We also live longer, and the older people get the amount of $$$ it takes medically to take care of them rises exponentially.

You do "pay" for your "free" healthcare through outrageous taxes, I would prefer to pay for it up front, seems less expensive in the long run just considering how much gas you use in a year....

your country funnels money for the PLO, made back door deals with Saddam and made sure he got his modern weaponry and luxury items while he fvcked his own people over. Your banks held the money under the UN food for oil program and your companies profited greatly from that immoral relationship. You country still is a major supplier for WMD in the region, including Syria and Iran. You don't like America, too bad, thankfully your opinion has as much value as your military. Instead of criticizing what you obviously don't know, maybe you should ask your own "leader" WTF he has been doing, your country is actually more of a joke than it used to be, which I thought would not be possible......

I suggest you take a more recent look at history and they way some of those dictators are viewed by their own people now, even as they hide out in France with the child molestors ;) Japan and the AU are not in the EU, and single countries might be higher, what about overall? And what about the quality of care they recieve at that advacned age? % of the population, alot more at play there but go ahead and be simple, it suits your intellect level. Thanks for playing.

Helped Iraq get WMD, yes, stopped after he used them to commit genocide, yes, the EU did not.

You need to look into Iran's history too, thats basically a product of British and Soviet influence and "rule", not US. Actually alot of the problems of the ME stem from what the UK did there after ww1.

not my religion. Nice to see you cannot resist the urge to do what you blast others for though, your bias is as obvious as ever.

You did not prove anything though, what is the AVERAGE life expectancy of the EU?

"The last decades of the 20th century were marked by an increasing east?west
gradient in mortality and an increasing gap in life expectancy between people
living in the eastern and western parts of the European Region (Fig. 4). All western
European countries have enjoyed a continuous increase in life expectancy. In the
EU countries, the average gain between 1970 and 1998 was 6.4 years at birth,
4.9 years at age 15 and 3.4 years at age 65. Although life expectancy at birth in
1970 was on average similar in the eastern part of the Region, a gap has opened up
between the CCEE and the EU countries amounting to 5.5 years in 1990 and
5.9 years in 1998. The gap between the EU countries and the NIS is even wider
(7.2 and 10.2 years, respectively) (Fig. 5). The NIS experienced large fluctuations
in life expectancy, and in particular a marked decline between 1986 and 1994.
The latest figures again reveal a deterioration, after some improvement in the
second half of the 1990s. The trends are similar for men and women, with the
traditional male disadvantage. Nevertheless, the female?male difference in life
expectancy is much greater in the NIS (11.1 years on average) and in the CCEE
(about 7.6 years) than in the EU (about 6.3 years). According to the most recent
reports, 27 countries in the Region have already reached a life expectancy at birth
of more than 75 years, while 11 countries remain below 70 years.

Did you "forget" to add those 11 countries who don't even make it to 70 on average?

Canada's life expectancy is higher than the US's as well. Canada's Health care(approx 10-11% of GDP) system is cheaper than the US's, but more expensive than most of Europe.

and canada pays for this by outrageous taxes and relying on the US for military protection.

You used the entire EU as a basis for determining cost, then conviently leave out 11 countries to try and prove a point. What is the overall average life expectancy of the EU, not just the top 5 or 10? Is it higher or lower than 70?

Why is that so hard for you to understand? Do you want me to list individual US states that are higher than the national average or higher than the specific EU countries you listed?

I see the education is on the same quality level as the health care, the math too hard for you? Is it the addition or determining an average?

well, most of the healthcare money is spent on the elderlies. because they paid their SS taxes and stuff. but once healthcare becomes completely privatized, everybody has to look after his/her self. which is better, more work incentives. so i just pray for the day when Social security will finally say bye bye.

And when your private health insurance company will find an excuse not to pay to cure your cancer to make their shareholder richer and happier, how will you feel? Like a dead fool.
This does not happen in France. I feel bright and confident.

Now I finally understand why everyone hates the French, they are a bunch of A Holes.

Strangely enough, the French are similar to the A--holes they admire. Just because one hates the French, doesn't mean they themselves are different from the French.

People did not bribe politicians to vote laws to allow all kinds of unhealthy foods to be produced. People did not ask to be lied about the quality of unhealthy food. The cigarette producers have become unhealthy food producers. They know how to manipulate people into ingesting products that kill them.
Advertising should be forced by law to contain only the picture of the product and the list of what it is made of, quantity and quality wise.
And selling unhealthy food should be prohibited. Giving it, yes. Making a profit out of it, no.
It is like the cigarette multinationals: they sould not be authorized to make a profit. All their profits should be taken by the government and spent on health care.
You just can not let the market and its big players get rich with all their crimes against humanity. Laws are needed in the interest of the citizens. Well, right now laws are dictated by the big players who get rich with their crimes against humanity, against nature,...

You see in America we are taught to think freely, by limiting free speech you limit the need for free thought, interesting how this is something you continually advocate yet you miss the entire premise in your blind hatred of America.
