for your woman to be a good cook? Are you guys really all about food and a "homecooked meal" that's as good as your mom makes?

I pretty much suck at cooking (can bake some, but nothing special) and want to know if I'm really gonna disappoint the man I marry.

I don't about the others but I could really care less... I've tried cooking and continue to try and know it's really REALLY hard. My standards as far as what good food is has decreased to the point that I probably could eat anything. Maybe as I get older food'll become more important to me, but for the time being as a poor college student, I could care less what I eat

Well I do all the cooking at home. My wife (as much as I love her) cant cook for sh1t, though she tries so hard sometimes...

Means nothing to me at all...sure it's nice to have, but I really don't give a rats ass if whoever I end up with can cook good or barely make some scrambled eggs. I can cook pretty decently myself anyway.

If we're talking about a girlfriend during college years, not important at all - but of course it's a nice perk.

When we're talking about the husband-wife situation, it's DEFINITELY not something that one makes a decision about who to marry upon, but somebody's going to have to take up the cooking at home. So yeah, it's important. Just not an important enough reason for a guy to leave a girl for.

nope, not a req. at all. My gf can cook cereal, that's about it, LOL. I do all of the cooking. So it doesn't bother me a bit that she can't or doesn't cook.

I wish someone can cook for me. I try to avoid using the stove, the oven unless I absolutely have to and make most of my eating at restaurants, McDonalds and when I eat at home, I use microwave foods.

i would like my wife to know atleast basic cooking. I dont expect her to be at the level of my mom (who incidently is an award winning chef). I can cook for myself and provide for the two of us if necessary. In my eye yes she should know some amount of basic cooking and enjoy helping me in cooking.

As for me being about "all good food", I have been pampered by my mom and yes I will have to vote for a home cooked meal. Though i love to eat outside, it does get expensive. My taste for "home cooked meals" is so strong that I drive 40 miles round trip to my parents place for dinner every night.

Well as for you sucking in cooking, you can learn to cook. I am sure you know how to boil water and make pasta. Others you can always learn. As for disappointing a man, I think you should as vipergts about it.

I dont expect my wife to do all teh cooking I will split up some of the cooking, but it would good for her to know some of the stuff.

If she doenst like cooking she better be open to eating stuff other than what she is used to.

Cooking is something you do when you have a kitchen. No kitchy, no learny to cook. As a human being one thing that is a big part of staying alive is eating. Something that central should demand proficiency at a minimum. If you like to eat, you will probably love to cook. Cooking is also easy. I'm having rice with mushrooms and cranberries and almonds and chicken broth and onions. Simple. Then a leg of lamb marinated in fresh rosemary, garlic and pepper and balsamic vinegar. I made clam dip with cream cheese and clams and worchestershire sause and garlic powder for potatoechips. Got a salad, organic greens and tomatoes and a whole bunch of other stuff. If you can cut a mushroom you can cook. You can use a meat thermometer if you don't know when things are done. Practice makes the apparently difficult, easy.

I prefer eating meals at home. I mean I love to eat out... but sometimes I want to be at home. I would not judge a woman on how good she can cook. That is F'cked up IMO.

Who in the hell is going to cook decent food? I can cook *alright*but nothing really exciting or good. I hope I suddently learn how to cook good when I'm in Uni next year, or get some girls to cook for me
