it doesn't really matter, from a husband's view point
but from your childrens' view point, it'll probably matter

cooking is a non-issue to me.

It a plus though. If you can make your man a good plate of meat and potatoes, he'll make it up to you 😉

you might want to try learning some indian cuisine since it's mostly vegetarian. indian food rocks.

one thing about knowing how to cook, it helps when you have company over. i am afraid some of you are too young to appreciate this.

Yeah, I've thought of that. In some ways, that's what I'm more worried about--being a good hostess. My mom's never been much into cooking but she pulls off a pretty good spread when company comes around. I guess I just have to make sure I have 2 or 3 really good meals to prepare for company.

Viper and I are cooking for my family when he comes to visit...I guess I could practice then.

Haha, I agree.

I can cook well enough so I'm not real concerned, though I wouldn't always want to be having to cook myself or go out to eat.
Also the line about the kids got me thinking that it sure wouldn't hurt if she could cook.

I cook as well or better thn most women I know my age (24). I'm not an incredibly creative cook, but I feel very comfortable in a kitchen, and I have a good idea for what foods go with what. So no, cooking skill in an S/O isn't a must, but if we could cook together, that's pretty rad...

yeah sarah, the only way to get good at cooking is to practice. i don't think i have ever made something right the very first time. even simple stuff like meatloaf can be a disaster the first time. don't even try something for the first time when you have company coming over. that's a disaster waiting to happen.

you are lucky in that you have the internet at your fingertips. you can get recipes and cooking tips for almost anything.

cooking is practice and taking an interest in it. if people look at cooking as a chore, much like doing the dishes, then they are doomed.

thankfully, i just love it so it comes easy to me.

What man doesn't like meat? 😀

I hate that low-fat / reduced fat / fat free crap. Tastes like sh!t and costs too much. Stick to the staples 🙂

Not too important.
After medical school, I want to go to Culinary school.
I will either take my wife out to eat or cook for her.

God knows that I love me wife, but she is an awful cook.
If for some reason I find myself looking for another wife, being a good cook will take top priority.

...well almost top. 😉

My man requires it ALL.

I have to look good (thanks to my personal trainer for helping me recover from my last pregnancy), I have to be totally proficient in the domestic arts, PLUS I have to be intellectually stimulating.

<---finds marriage to be similar to competing in the Olympics

😉

im a horrible cook (which is really pathetic considering my aunt and uncle are both chefs) so hopefully my future wife will be a good cook. It's not a top priority but its definitly nice.

there is a problem with women wanting men who are perfect, some psychologist said this one:
You are waiting to marry the perfect man but i have one question for you, if you found the perfect man would he marry you?

If the recipe is written properly, almost anyone can cook a decent dish.
Of course, if one of the ingredients of the meal is "huge t ts" then it will taste a lot better.

I doesn't matter as long as the woman does not expect me the man to cook. 🙂
Edit: Of course if you have children then it can be a problem. If neither of the parents cooks then the kids will tend to eat junk food and get fat with an unhealthy diet.
