damn i didnt know stopping power benefits launchers, the thing is i cant see how you would shoot down an AC130 or chopper gunner without coldblooded.

Just like Danger Close Pro makes explosive killstreaks do more damage, Stopping Power Pro does more damage to them with whatever you use.

That said, a Pavelow will usually fire flairs that will deter your first Stinger even with SP Pro. I've noticed of late that I've had a much easier time taking out Harriers in one shot though.

is that what that was ? lol i thought that was smoke and stuff from hitting it once because it needs more than one shot lol

No, really a Stinger doesn't need SP Pro to take any killstreak out in 1 shot, it's just a matter of hitting it. Really bullets and the AT4 are the only things that benefit from SP Pro. I believe the Stinger/Javelin do as much damage as a Predator missile (which is a 1 hit kill on KS's).

A javelin can take out a pavelow without the flares going. The trick is not locking on.

For you 360 gamers, Amazon has the 360 version for $10 off right now and you still get the $20 credit! I was waiting to use my Reach credit to apply to this, I couldn't pass it up though...I'm weak!

Hmmm... I'm not really interested in black ops but that gets me thinking about it a bit.

:hmm:

So I understand that killstreak rewards won't increase your killstreak now. I feel that this is a good thing. Then again, I haven't seen much of what the killstreaks are yet. I know there is a 3-kill reward that gives you the explosive RC car.

RC car (3 kills), care package (4 kills), and "archangel" (predator?) (5 kills), and a sort of apache. Also looks like a sort of napalm airstrike. All those are shown in the multiplayer video.

Also September 1st "full multiplayer reveal" so should be more info.

Yup, tomorrow they're showing alot more info, it wouldn't surprise me if they announce a beta as well.

Supposedly the RC Car is going to be moved to a higher kill streak amount.

Would make sense. Based on what I heard about how killstreaks work, at 3 kills this would probably be used by everyone and you'd have RC cars all over the map. It'd be worse than noob toobs.

My interests in this game is way up since the multiplayer reveal. I believe Treyarch is trying their damnedest now.
It all comes to map designs though. I think MW2 sucks when I have to play an awful map. It really makes it a different game.

I somewhat agree, but i think almost all maps are well thought out, its just sometimes the map dosent suit our style, like for example i use to hate wake but ive been liking lately cause ive been sniping a little lol.

I hate enough of the maps in MW2 that it frustrates me quite a bit. That is the thing I'm hoping for most in Black Ops, solid maps.

The CoD 4 maps are much better as a whole than the MW2 maps.

What worries me about Black Ops is that they seem to be taking a somewhat cheezy approach to the game (not the first time they've done it). MW2 overall is pretty straight forward seriousness. So far in BO I've noticed:
  • Smiley face aiming reticle?
  • "Bad Ass" box art with kill marks in weapons and two rifles across back...
  • Gears of War-esque exploding crossbow
  • Remote controlled car bomb (cool but kinda cheesy)
  • Inked up "bad ass" commando-type soldiers
  • Spring loaded knife that shoots it's blade off...
I can probably think of more if I watched the video again, but off the top of my head that's what I've got.

Given Treyarch's history of making a "grimier, more badass" flop out of World at War I'm worried about how this will end up. We'll see with the "big reveal" today. Hopefully there'll be a beta out soon.

It's all about gameplay. Most of the items you listed look like new ideas - as opposed to reusing everything from MW2 like W@W did to MW. One of your primary complains ;)

As long as things flow, it's amazing how Treyarch listens to customer complains and actually implements features like web stats unlike IW does.

I'm all for new content, I don't want to cheese it up with smiley faced aiming reticles. Just looks like another feature aimed at 8 year old kids who want to demonstrate their "mad pwning skillz."

It's a stupid aiming reticle on the RDS! They're adding personalization features, something I think the game is missing. Everyone uses the same load outs, this will just give people something else to customize akin to our callsigns & emblems. Maybe this is the idea I had of camo's persisting after prestige, along with other changes?

W@W was awesome

4 player campaign coop was insanely awesome, especially trying to storm the reichstag

the playing cards made it more fun too

if the campaign is good to play and not BS crap like MW2, and coop works the same, I will love the game. the mp wasnt bad that I can remember except for spawn issues.

From what I hear the smiley face is a customization point. There's a smiley on one of the MW2 guns too. Box art is hardly a reason to discredit a game. The exploding crossbow idea actually goes as far back as the original UT in games, and has been seen in several movies. It's a good idea.

It's not cheesy, it's fun.
