K, I went over the latest video and pulled out a few more details.
Equipment:
You get three items equipped at a time - lethal, tactical and equipment. For instance, a frag, a smoke, and a claymore.
Equipment includes:
Camera Spike (camera view replaces minimap)
C4
Tactical Insert
Jammer (place to scramble enemy radar in its radius)
Motion Sensor (enemies within its radius show up in radar)
Claymore
Weapons:
The name of the rifle I couldnt figure out actually said "classified" - I assume this is because it was an assault rifle that you cant buy until youve reached the right level or satisfied some other requirement - that classified rifle is also definitely the H&K G11, which looks like something from a sci-fi movie.
Shotguns are now a primary rather than a secondary.
The m14 (close cousin of the M1 garand) is definitely semi-auto. This probably indicates that the FN FAL is either burst or full auto in this game, since there probably isnt more than one semi auto.
Killstreaks:
One of the killstreaks where you fly the chopper shows you have both a minigun and rockets - that should be fun.
The redeemer missile type killstreak is like the predator in that can be boosted by pulling LB. RT apparently detonates it on the spot. There is also a fuel meter on screen, so you cant fly it around forever, seems around 30 seconds.
Gametypes:
Under "Find Match" there are three options:
Ante Up (The 4 wager modes we know about)
Weekend Gambler
High Roller
All seem to imply some sort of gambling, so theres definitely more wagering than we're currently being told about. Curiously absent are the "normal" game types, but we know they exist, so its not really clear what that all means. Perhaps those were just disabled when the video was being shot, and these are just different levels of the same modes with higher stakes.
While he's waiting for the wager match to start, there was an option to "double down", which says it raises the buy-in - so you can potentially put more on the table than the standard bet.
Contracts:
Theyre like challenges, but you need to pay for them to start. They rotate over time, it says in a ticker below new contracts will be available in "2h5min43sec".
There are three types, with examples:
Mercenary:
G11 Cruelty - Earn 25 kills with G11 in 40 min of gametime.
G11 Ferocity - Earn 50 kills with G11 in 40 min of gametime.
There were only a few listed here, so it seems like as they rotate certain weapons, attachments and killstreaks will become the "flavor of the hour". Not clear whether everyone has the same contracts active to buy at any given time.
Operations
Demolition Victor - Win 2 games of demolition within 45 min of time alive in game.
Same for TDM, CTF, etc
Specialist (not shown)
These all seem to overlap with "normal" CoD challenges which are confirmed to remain - I definitely saw an unlock that said "Challenge: 10 M16 Kills"
Customization:
You can apparently pick an emblem and a background like MW2, but they dont come with cutesy little sayings anymore.
There are 21 purchaseable face paints.
You can independently choose the reticle type, color and "lens". Lens is NOT like choosing between ACOG, reflex or IR - its not clear at ALL what youre actually changing from the video, but it sounds like you might be able to choose the tint of your lens glass.
Perks are bought with CoD points as well. Pro perks are in the game for sure, and it says "X to view challenge group to declassify", so you may have to do multiple things to unlock the pro perks - unfortunately he didnt click through for details. At one point "Hardline Pro 1: 10 Killstreak" came up, so it might not be as simple as it was in MW2. But he also unlocked a 5 killstreak missle at the same time, so thats kinda confusing there.
The Tier 1 perk determines what your avatar wears, but also still determined by map type (you can scroll through the factions and body camo types):
Lightweight - Basically just a BDU
Scavenger - BDU w/ a satchel/bandolier
Ghost (basically Cold Blooded) - Hooded BDU, similar to the non-ghille sniper from MW2. One type also showed a half ghille suit (just the top), while he held an SMG, even.
Flak Jacket (less explosive damage) - Bomb Squad style armor
Hardline - Helmet and kevlar
You can etch your clan tag into weapons, and place emblems on them.
You can add 10 layers to your "playercard", which may be the replacement for the titles, as lvl1 cards are completely transparent. It could simply just be the pastable emblems though. Each additional layer needs to be purchased. There are 12 pages of 36 emblems with which to customize (400+), each needs to be bought separately of course. They can all be colored, scaled, rotated however you want Forza style, so Im sure some crazy art will come from it, but its not clear if you can choose where to put it on the gun itself.
Other little tidbits:
Level 50 shows a 5 star ring - this may indicate it's the top level, which may make sense since theres so much more focus on the Cod points.
There is no more visual display of your ammo (the little white lines), its just numbers now, like 30/90.
There is also a little ticker at the bottom that says "*Gamertag* unlocked the M1911", so apparently it keeps you up to date on what your friends are unlocking/doing far more specifically than MW2 did.
Theyre really changing a lot around. And all of it looks awesome, IMO. I can't wait.
