I have no idea why people like BF BC2 so much; "meh" story, so-so graphics, poor controls. No prone? Please. Character animations look poor as well. To each his own, I guess.

Back to topic. I wonder how this new installment will tie in with the previous story. MW2 ending was clearly set up for another sequel.

I'm gonna say it's the no prone, FEATURE.

Generally they are seen as a largely inferior developer to IW. If you liked W@W though then don't listen to us Treyarch haters. All that matters is that you liked it 😛

Yep, treyarch makes decent games, but they basically work off of the framework that IW gives them, and the games clearly dont have the same level of polish or innovation that the IW games do.

Given that IW is essentially dead, this is likely to be the last decent treyarch game, as they still at least have the additions in MW2 to work off of.

So it's basically going to be a good, if uninsprired COD. Still something to get excited over IMO.

After I bought World At War, I'll never buy a Treyarch COD game ever again

I thought that W@W was pretty decent. It was leaps and bounds better than Treyarch's game before that, CoD 3. CoD 3 was terribly buggy at release, and was pretty much unplayable until they patched it a couple of times. After that it was still worse than CoD 2. This was when Treyarch was still making their own game engines instead of modifying IW's, so the game engine was bad too.

I don't mean to thread crap, but I didn't care for neither MW2 or BC2. They both had their problems online and their mechanics. BC2 makes no sense with prone or crouching, suffers from high pings, animation glitches, and some minor performance issues. MW2 was just a terrible concept to being with.

They killed a great game, and I realized it's just time to move on from COD.

BLACK OPS!!!, because they're the Blackest Ops of all the Ops when there are more Ops than the Black Ops because not even the Elite Ops are as BLACK as the Blackest Ops!

They're named that because if they had went with White Ops they would have gotten flak from Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

W@W wasn't bad, they just got a bad rap from Crap of Doody 3. Yes it was basically MW1 reskinned to WWII but it had a pretty good story line and the multi-player was good. I'll definitely get Black Ops and give it a try. MW2 is just TOO "Blingy" with all the kill streaks, it only makes TDM fun and ruins most of the other game types as its WAY too easy to camp and get a good kill streak rolling. Domination, HQ, and demolition are all PERFECT examples, people just come in for kills and care less about winning the match and they just sit close to objectives and camp them to get easy kills while NEVER going for a flag/base. I use to love Dom but its RARE to get a match where the other team actually goes for flags.

What's worse is being called a camper after winning a demolition match.

I'm sorry, but the entire point of DEFENDING is to DEFEND the area, it's pretty cut and dry.

BC2's biggest problem is its shitty framerate. The animations are pretty blah, too.

Ahh.. those help. Looks like its a time span between Vietnam through the cold war. Nice,.. covering more then one war at a time. Could give us enough multiplayer maps to keep this game in the console a while.

Regardless of Treyarch's history, I will buy this game if it adds 4-players-per-console system link capability and the ability to add bots to matches.

I highly doubt we will ever see bots in games like this. They do good to get it to play smooth with just real people. Add in AI to that and it will be too much.

I watched that MP trailer and it looked cool. One thing worried me, the diving I saw that guy do. If this turns into BF2's "Oh noes a person, I must dive down and shoot their feetz!" BS, I will stop playing it immediately.

Yup, it's been announced that there is diving, I too think it'll get annoying. Not as annoying as people abusing the remote control car bomb on objective games...

Not going to happen. Doubtful for any game.

Halo 3 used to have four player per console system link. Till they removed the feature for who knows why. Not sure if they had bots, but GoW2 had bots. Two pretty high profile games that had those features.

Not overly optimistic, but it's not unprecedented.

Halo takes the cake as the only game I know of that allows multiple people to play online on a single console under one gamertag. I wish that would become common practice.

Ya, that is the only reason I'm getting Halo: Reach (assuming they implement the same features in Reach). And I like CoD style gameplay more than Halo style gameplay. But the ability to play with my friends locally is the #1 priority for me, so it looks like I'm gonna get Reach in lieu of Black Ops. Not that anybody cares, since I'm just a drop in the bucket in Activision's eyes. :/

Split screen is harder to do in games that have nicer graphics, Halo had poor graphics. Bots in an Epic game is not surprising. In any other, it is.
