LOL, did you read your own link?

One article from 2015.

One is a "look back" at a hate crime from a famous hate crime almost two decades ago. Why was it famous? Because it was particularly rare and depraved. Not something that happens dozens of times a day in every city.

Then there's one that happened in the UK in 2014.

You're making my point for me. It simply doesn't happen that often, certainly not to the extent that you are claiming it does with your ridiculous appeal to emotion.

"They're taking their lives in their hands every time they step out their front door as gay people! What a world, what a world!!!'

Homosexuals in Russia? They're oppressed. In the US, not even close. Christ, they have parades here. Are there intolerant assholes that dislike homosexuals? Yep. But you can find intolerance for any group.

We should be exuberant about people doing what makes them happy as long as it doesn't harm anyone else.

Yeah, lets just toss rationality and science out the window for some imaginary dogma of feelgood pc police. And you accused others of being in the dark ages...

Makes no difference. Should we ban lesbians from female locker rooms and gay men from male locker rooms?

I was raised to say "put them in their own &*(%ing room by themselves with broken glass on the floor" or something.

Honestly, I don't care these days...I've matured past my family's racism. As long as they don't touch other people when it isn't wanted/as long as if they express interest in someone else, they accept "no" - who cares? Hold them to the same standard as everyone else (that is to say, I don't approve of what they're doing, but I can see past that to say that they should be allowed to do it.)

Sorry. That is not scientifically proven. It is a suggestion, nothing more.

Suggest:

1. to mention or introduce (an idea, proposition, plan, etc.) for consideration or possible action: The architect suggested that the building be restored.

2. to propose (a person or thing) as suitable or possible for some purpose:
We suggested him for president.

3. (of things) to prompt the consideration, making, doing, etc., of:
The glove suggests that she was at the scene of the crime.

4. to bring before a person's mind indirectly or without plain expression:
I didn't tell him to leave, I only suggested it.

5. to call (something) up in the mind through association or natural connection of ideas:

Clearly not a proven fact. Big difference.

And evolution is just a theory!

I used to work with one at Honeywell that was spoiled rotten, they even altered a bathroom in one plant for "Samantha"

I was forced to deal with this person at the time, as they stuck him/her whatever on a safety commitee I was involved in.

I'm getting sick of this crap all ready to be honest, it's getting weird when talk shows want to discuss how many twerpy gender/physical make up/psychological make ups their are.

Seriously, it's getting old fast.

Exactly. For example, I hate the Dutch and I'm not even sure where they come from or if Dutch is a real language. Although I suppose someone has to be making up all of those subtitles. :whiste:

Everybody is a special little snowflake, we must pay attention to their feelers, all of the time, lest we get sued.

This is part of the same problem. We have raised a bunch of people who think that they need to be treated extra special, so a lot of them seek to be treated that way. No matter how disruptive it may seem.

From everything I have read Caitlyn has struggled for her entire life with gender identity issues. I congratulate her on being honest about her struggles & wish her every success in building a new life. I cannot imagine the amount of personal pain that led to this decision.

I also find it interesting .. A Vanity Fair cover that results in Caitylin being judged and mocked just like a lot of other women have been.

I worked with a trans person who created a lot of drama, be it suicide related, or simply trying to take offense at everything. We were debating treason charges for Snowden back in the day...and I said something to the tune of "I don't think Snowden should be charged for _____ reasons, but I think that other guy who was recently convicted got what he deserved. I can't remember his name....oh, Bradley Manning."
"You mean Chelsea?"
"Huh? The guy's name is Bradley Manning...he was convicted not long ago."
"HER NAME IS CHELSEA NOW, SHE CHANGED GENDERS."

Before that moment I didn't follow enough to know that had happened...but this person acted so incredibly offended. The entire group went silent. You could hear a pin drop. Our coffee break abruptly ended and we went back to our cube farm.

I'd rarely feel I would ever do this to a mod, but I must.

People don't change gender for attention and money. That is as stupid an idea I've ever heard from you, and you give some pretty stupid ideas. I wish you would just keep it to yourself. It is not even an opinion, it is just inane bigotry. It is of course your business to be stupid, up until you decide to call attention to it by posting something in public, but really nobody wants to hear your stupid crap.
It is just stupid redneck ranting.

Ok then answer this: Why is He/She/It putting this out in interviews, magazine covers etc...

Maybe he wants to publicise it for the good of all mankind ( no pun intended ). I doubt it.

So, Yes apparently some do it just for attention and money and perhaps some sort of sick fame, as in this particular case.

So go bump yourself.

It is a He not a She.

Judged and mocked like other women?

Poppycock, you are comparing apples and oranges.

If it were anyone else I would fully agree with you.

Unfortunately this family is the very definition of media whores. So much of what they do is for publicity, to push out their self-written headlines, to get people talking about them. And to make gobs of money every step of the way.

At the very minimum, you could say the gender change might not have been for attention and money, but he for damn sure is milking this change for attention and money. A case certainly can be made his decision to go through with the change was because of the opportunity for the accompanying attention & money at this current time.

He had a camera crew surrounding him throughout his entire "transformation" and they're putting out as a television show on E!. Do you think he's not racking in a gigantic pay check from this? Personally, if other people want to watch this show, that's fine by me, it's their right to. And if E! wants to pay Bruce for the show, that also is fine by me, that's how the entertainment industry works. I just get to point out what's happening.

Nooooo. He is doing it for the good of all man / woman kind. To make the world a better place.

[/sarcasm]

All the sane people know what is going on. All the "feel good" asshats think it is great than somebody mutilates themselves for money and attention. I really don't care what Bruce does to himself. I do find it a gross, and I'd rather not see it on magazine covers and all over the news. Esp when they start spewing the crap about how "brave" he is bla bla bla ad nausium... When it is just BS.
