california is defnitely the best. I've been to a lot of states, a lot of places. Nothing really compares to the diversity, the amount of things to do, the oppotunity, the weather.

New England is pretty good in the Spring Time through late Summer

No it's not. It's blasting cold in the winter, and it's fvcking hot in the summer. That's why you have nice places in CA that you can live at ALL YEAR ROUND and be happy.

but oh ya, NE is absolutely beautiful during the fall time. Aside from the weather, the visuals is a real treat that we really can't see here in CA. Of course we have our own treats like the beaches and mountains to the deserts. But ya, I won't disagree w/ RedDawn on that either.

My cousin lives in NE heh.

But anyways, I'm horribly biased since I grew up in CA, and just flying back to CA is a cool feeling, hearing the Captain say "this is the captain speaking, the weather in LAX/SD/JohnWayne/Ontario is currently a mild 70 degrees w/ low humidity." :p.

You mean the anorexic bimbos with the oversized sunglasses, fake breasts, and bitchy attitudes?

No, some fine ass girls in Cali. Expessially the asian ones, who tend to be smart and good looking. California has the best looking girls bar none.

People are flocking to California too, even when prices are high. Everyone wants to live in California. Our population is booming and always will be.
Particularly the ones flocking illegally across the border.

Sure we have some illegals who corss the boarder, but plenty of people from other states flock to California.

And you live in CA?...or are you just being sterotypical...there are alot of very fit, natural beauties here.
Yep, live in SoCal...the culture hear seems to revolve around stereotypes compared to other places I have lived...compared to the women I encountered in Europe, the superficial women out here just don't seem as appealing...sure they are pretty to look at, but not much appealing underneath the exterior.

Now there is a stereotype if ever I did hear one...would love for you to meet some of the Asian girls in my apartment complex...they may be "fine ass," but they are also dumb as brick little princesses.

Sure we have some illegals who corss the boarder, but plenty of people from other states flock to California.
I am guilty of being one of those "people from other states," but fortunately it will be a short stay.

Why did you go to Californria in the first place?
Just one of a few regions in the country I hadn't lived in yet...based on how California and Californians project the culture here, I thought it might be a fun place to try out...the reality of California, at least SoCal, is far different then the state's supposed greatness...sure it has its good with its bad, as does any state...if you want to think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread, be my guest...I am not impressed by it.

How much of that is because of illegals? Las Vegas is one of the fastest growing cities in the world, and I know a family that left Los Angeles because of taxes to Vegas.

And if you are proud of that then I guess you are where you belong, with all of the other lying, cheating, degenerate, sub-humans in your backward, racist, homophobic, wanna-be soverign, state.

If I am mistaken however, then just ignore this.

I would venture into P&N and debate you on what exactly happened BUT I can see that Logic and Facts are not something you are accustumed to.

This isn't meant to offend, but it seems a lot of Californians express such emphatic statism in order to rationalize paying exorbitant prices for what's otherwise very mediocre. The way most Californians live is barely middle class in most other developed cities.

There are so many great states and areas in the US that considering one as the best is rather ridiculous. I personally find the southeastern coast (the Carolinas, for example) to be more attractive than the southwest, but to each their own.

I'm quite happy with Vermont, thank you.

My mom grew up largely in Vermont, and has lived in CA for many decades. It is seldom when I see her that she doesn't regale me with how miserable it was for her to have to walk to and from school in the snow!

But, if you're happy there, fine. Like Henry Miller said, the man who thinks himself the happiest man in the world, is so.

We have great life in California. Most Californians rather live here than any other state. The southeast is far to hummid, and lacks the natural beauty of California. Nothing beats the great variaty of nature and people in California.

Agreed...
However, I enjoy a quieter life... I had hoards of schools in the Carolinas that offered me jobs, but after getting stuck in traffic during rush hour, I realized how nice of an area I live in now.

Texas owns Cali. And that was literally the case back in the late 90s Cali energy crisis.

It was Enron that owned California. You should watch Enron - The Smartest Guys in the Room. Very interesting.

I would argue that many parts of America, including the southeast and other areas, have plenty of natural beauty.

Nothing beats the great variaty of nature and people in California.
True, California is diverse...too bad the people rarely venture outside of their little cultural enclaves.

Where I live in CA (Berkeley) there doesn't seem to be much in the way of cultural enclaves. It's just diversity itself. Been that way for a real long time, too. Nothing will surprise you in terms of diversity. You'll hear any number of "foreign" languages spoken all over the place, and it couldn't possibly surprise you.
