Your explanation of how it works is right, but the conclusion is not - you correctly explained why the majority party's gerrymandering causes 'moderates' of that party to get elected in narrower races, but as yousaid, the minority party has as many of its voters crammed together as possible, which results in the hardcore candidates far from the center to get elected tfrom that party. I.e., relatively moderate Dems and relatively extreme Republicans.

But we see increasing ideological extremity among both parties.

While that may or may not be, the role of gerrymandering is a pressure in favor of more extreme members of the minority party, and more centrist members of the majority party.

Send tea to Sacramento!!!!

(Today was a recap of Arnold's 2003 post-inaugural speech at a local Ford dealer here in So Cal where he proposed that Gray Davis' original tripling of the car tax was unacceptable and how it was critical for a policy of "no new taxes" to preserve the less fortunate classes, unlike himself, to continue to buy cars and stimulate the economy. Just a SLIGHT discourse from his position in 2009!!!!!!)

CALIFORNIA TEA PARTY!!!!!!!!! Even if you don't live in California but think that Arnold is the lying swine he is now exposed to be go ahead & send some tea!!!

Again I ask, would you rather have a functioning government and the facilities and services it provides and having to raise taxes to pay for it, or a bankrupt government, thousands of state employees out of jobs and facilities and services shut down because taxes couldn't be raised.

Think about things rationally instead of emotionally for a moment and then give an answer.

Yes, websites like the one you linked will certainly help. Pictures of giant turds, 'teabag your legislator'. I closed it 15 seconds after opening it.
This is retarded.
