That's because you're an idiot. And probably a frightened one at that.

The same guy at work that has one of those S&W .50 Cal Mags also has one of these.

The guys that went hunting with him said the thing pushes you back half a foot from a prone position.

Again, Silly Ban!

Just something for the people who disagree with someones "need" to own a gun of this magnitude.

Ask yourself this. Should legislation be put into effect to limit car manufacturers from making any cars taht can exceed 80 miles an hour. Also anyone who's car can exceed this must register before april 30, or face severe penalties. This would be just because at most the fastest speed limit I know of is 75, so in reality no one needs anything more.

Don't get me wrong I am one of those "jerks" who actually drives 70 in a 70 mph zone. But I still would find it absolutely preposterous to make anylegislation against allowing cars to be built to exceed that limit. Because anyone who wanted would just illegally modify their vehicles and still be in violation of the law. And in the meantime it only lulls the public into complacency and makes it easier for criminals.

My point is just that there is no real danger from these, just as ther is little danger that someone is going to buy a formula 1 race car and drive it down the highway at 300mph.

Wow.... a single shot gun will bring down a big jet airliner...

those guys in WWII must have sucked... all the Pearl Harbor movies and stuff... they had machine guns and had a hard time downing planes. Must have just been a dramatization.

LOL, they're trying to scare people, ohh, big bad rifle, a terrorist is going to buy it and kill you. Well guess what, they could spend $7000k+ on a Barrett, or they could buy a $100 pistol and kill you even easier, or even an AK.

What about a fifty cent pair of scissors? Are we going to ban them too? LIEK OMG, WHAT IF THE TERRORIST STEALS THE SCISSORS FROM THE DOLLAR STORE. IT'S A FREE WEAPON!

Fuckin pussies.

O_M_G i laughed so hard reading this thread. you guys are funny as hell. 'specially that guy and his "anti-mater" weapon. LMAO! if you dont know ANYTHING about guns, dont even post here. when is the retarded government going to learn that my dads .416 weatherby magnum will kill someone AS GOOD as a .50 cal? there is no DEGREE of death, if someone is DEAD then they are DEAD. sorry for caps lol. as said earlier, if someone wants to kill someone else, and puts theyre mind to it, there is NO_WAY to stop them. just like there is NO_WAY to stop terrorists. you can hinder them, but not stop them. if they dont get what they want, they will always be terrorists.

Haven't you seen Air America? (a movie with Mel Gibson)
Maybe if you shoot the exterior engine during take off (or any engine on a two-engine aircraft). Or shoot the pilots

You missed the point of the article, which cited the weapon would be used to shoot down planes, not kill someone "AS GOOD" as xyz gun. lol

Shoot, the Government supplies mine! But I need my own on the side too. If someone breaks into my apartment, they are getting shot untill they stop breaking in. If someone decides to rob a store that I'm shopping at, they are getting shot until they stop robbing. And then rifles are just plain fun.

A special irony is that one of the main manufactures of these rifles is based in California. The Los Angeles Police use these rifles but support the ban. Now the LAPD wants the manufacturer to refurbish their rifles. Naturally, the company is not too keen on doing that work. The company reply is here:

Letter to LAPD

Dude, save your shooting for the Iraqi's and those breaking into your house. I don't want to get shot because you felt the need to act like a hero in the Liquor store.

Yep. It's up to the clerk if he wants to pull out the sawed off 12 gauge side-by-side loaded with OO.

Just don't be in the pattern.

First of all wrong country. Second of all, I am trained with weapons, including quite a bit of CQB, and will only continue to train both with the military and privately. You dont just go shooting up a place, but if someones life is in danger (ie, someone holding up a store at gunpoint), they need to be stopped. Notice, that the key term of "stopping" instead of "killing" is the big difference between a military and a civilian scenario. How many people would rob 7-11 if they were 100% sure that the clerk had a weapon to fire back.
