i actually don't recommend those cable wraps. The problem is it doesn't allow for cables to exit at various lengths. One of the most important ability of the spiral wrap is to allow for several different cables, going to different locations, be bundled as one and then exit when needed.

That is not true. Tying a tie right before an exiting cable allows cable to exit at various lengths. Normally, with no exit, you need only two zip ties. (one each end) With one exit, you need three. (one each end, and one at exit) With three, you need four, and so on...

Got some 10" right angle SATA cables coming in today. I have some 18" SATA cables that come w/ the mobo and they're pretty difficult to hide from the open. I'm thinking about not connecting the floppy cables when I'm not using it to keep the case clean. Gonna post some pics when I'm done w/ the new wiring.

Update: The 10" cables are very short, but I like the right angle connector. I re-routed the cables a little bit, but nothing significant.

Update 2: Switched to all SATA devices now using 10" right angle connector cables. I like it.

nice case baked. In my experience, you don't even need the right angle cables. Sata cables can be folded flat, I just keep them close to the bottom of the drive. I still havn't gotten around to taking photos of the new system. University's really eating at my free time. I'll get them up the next time i clean out my case though.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't sure how far I can bend the SATA cable w/o damaging the wires inside. If what you said is true, I guess I could bend them back more and closer to the bottom of the HD for a cleaner look. I'm planning on getting a SATA DVD burner and do away w/ IDE all together.

You can turn the drives around and completely hide the wires. :)

Yeah, I tried that before the right angle SATA cables came in. There's just one problem with the HD cage in this case, the holes don't line up if you mount the HD backward, and as if it isn't sticking out far enough when you installed it the right way, the HD sticks out an additional 1/4" inch when installed backward. Oh well, it looks pretty good now, I'm gonna just leave it at that. It's not like I have a windowed side panel on my case.

Nice guide! :)

I remember the days of having the Alien-Green tower case w/ side window....buying UV cable wrap and putting a few UV lights inside the case.....those were the days :p

I really need to clean up my wiring. It's a complete mess but I've been holding off until I get a new P/S... I'm considering the SilverStone ST60F which is modular and should help organize the mess quite a bit. I'd be embarrassed to show the inside of my system right now. :p

Post it up. Than you can really show off your case once you're done cleaning.

OK, you guys should love this!

These are pics of my system in it's currrent running state. I changed absolutely nothing other than pulling the side off to take some pics. I didn't even shut it down. :D

Pic 1 - the mess

Pic 2 - another angle

Pic 3 - closeup! :) I wondered where that cheeto went! :p

Pic 4 - my wiring skills extend outside of the case as well. :D

Now you know my shame.

That's for fun actually, I will post some pics of the new C2D system. It's a real bucket-o-bolts. :p

I see some of you guys trying hard to hide those stock PSU lead bundled wired going directly from the PSU then to the drive cages - you can twist and then straighten those out then cover them with balck wire loom then clip them to the top or back of the case.

Here's my Aerocool Masstige - on H2O.

The wires are all run under the motherboard, and/or behind the MB tray. Believe me there is a mess of wires under the other side panel... :)

Wow beachboy, its almost as if you made a concerted effort to make that as messy as possible!

It seems that way but I swear that's exactly how it was. I did take the pics at angles that made it look as bad as possible though.

I think I will work on this tomorrow as I took the system apart today to install a new heatsink/fan and it's not working right so I am gonna have to take everything all apart so I can make that stupid Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro work properly... it's making my cpu run even hotter than the stock Intel heatsink/fan. :|

And I found a pile of zip-ties so maybe I can clean this mess up a bit.

To be honest Beachboy, mine looks pretty bad inside too :) I'm trying to think of ways of sorting it out, although without a window on the side I'm not too worried about a bit of mess just as long as it doesnt impede airflow.

I'm taking the whole thing apart later to put new thermal compound on the Northbridge and Southbridge, so I think I'll try and neaten it up a little... just need to find somewhere to grab some ties from on the way back from work :)

I've finally neatened the whole thing up, its not exactly a professional job but it looks neat enough inside and there is certainly no problem with wires impeding airflow now.
