Bye, Bye Cursive writing. Haha

See ya Won't be too soon for me! I haven't had to "write" since I was in elementary and I switched from writing to printing in late junior high. Every year or two I try and see if I can still do it and I can't really.

I know very few adults who use cursive even when they do write - and most seem to prefer a computer nowadays anyway. What a waste of time it was learning it.

Of course my printing is getting uglier by the year. I'm now down to about grade 2 (or less) quality in how my printing looks but it doesn't cost me a minute of sleep. I don't understand why people fight inevitabilities which are, in fact, no even bad. This is one such case.

they told us back in elem school that in high school we would be required to write in cursive all the time.

what a crock of sh!t that was.

Without a great deal of concentration, I cannot write cursive. I skipped grade 3 (did grade 3and 4 in the same year) and missed many of the base level training in writing cursive. I forced myself to learn when I was in high school, but I either type or print today.

BWA HA! I got the same line of bull fed to me, too!

If I don't print...it's not legible. That's why I got into computers! 😀

In 6th grade they always used to say, "In middle school, they won't let you turn in homework late." But, they did.

In high school, they always used to say, "In college, they won't let you turn in homework late." But, they did.

And in graduate school, I've gotten extensions on assignments too. 🙂

I'm glad there are so many cursive haters. They told us it would be useful and fast too and you know when I switched I could print just as fast. Now cursive is just ghey.

If I am in a hurry I tend to use all caps, if I am REALLY rushed I sometimes mix caps and lower case within words, so it kinda looks like a ransom note.

Me too but even when I try it looks like a ransom note. 🙂

Engineering school taught me well -- ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME, BABY! 🙂

(Actually, literally... we spent a week on the alphabet and numbers!)

It took me like 20 minutes to figure out how to make a capital "G" in cursive the other day!

Even when i did cursive I remember G being wily. I don't think I ever did nail it.

In fact cursive is even more useless than the forced learning of French in non-Quebec canada.

I havn't written cursive since elementary school.
What a complete waste of time and effort.

i guess they never taught me cursive.

my normal writing - like for myself, on documents and notes, etc - is kinda half way between printing and writing.. a few letters like to stick to eache other and some dont..

and then other times i just print.. i never handwrite anymore, never need to..

i passed english because i wrote cursive. they cant read what i wrote, so, assume it is the correct spelling .LOL

My first initial is "G" when I do my sig I usually use my first and middle initial in block letters and last name in cursive, if I have to sign my first name I use a non cursive "G" connected to the rest in cursive.

When I closed on a home loan and later refinanced I had to sign my full first middle and last name over thirty times, that sucked, made my hand hurt :|
