After a good year and a half run, I'm saying good bye to something I love.

Ah, well, it's for the best, or so I keep telling myself. I'm not home so much anymore now that I have a girlfriend. My need for a fast porn DL has also diminished significantly. So, I'm going with a local ISP of good repute that only charges $8.99 per month with 6 month billing. $44.95 is too hard to justify when I'm a student looking to buy a new car soon and trying to save for a decent down payment on a home.

I'm on my way to return the modem to the cable company now.

Wish me luck, say a prayer, or pour out a 40 oz. This is going to be rough, this break-up. 🙁
 
Your priorities are all screwed up.

Keep the cable modem, get rid of the girlfriend.

Seriously, though, sounds like a good, rational decision. When it comes to downloading pr0n, mp3s, etc., we tend to think with our hearts or other head way too much. The mind triumphs in the end. You're a better man than me or most of us. Bravo! 😛
 
I would rather skip one meal a day and have my cable modem. Now, that I can stay connected 24x7, have high-speed downloads AND use my telephone at the same time, my cable modem is STAYING in my house. 😉

Wurd. The sex will wear off in a few months. Remember; they only make the sex great in the BEGINNING, to get you HOOKED. As soon as you do something stooooopid, like stop hanging out with the guys OR turn in your cable modem, the Nookie Store closes up tighter than a downtown Baghdad business on March 17th. 😛

Oh, BTW, they just released some AWESOME new UT2K3 maps...but they are like 25 megs each...guess you wont' be playing them anytime soon....

Internet sucks with out Broadband. Trust me I've been there (went from dial up, to cable, back to dial up and quickly back to Cable). You dial up and stare at the window.... "umm... what can I do now"...
 
I would think it would be a good thing. Summer is around the corner and you wouldn't have anymore excuses not to go outside. Cable is becoming harder to justify, $48 a month is a lot.
