I guess their move was quite blunt, to say the least.
I am sure, though, they share the same views with many thousands in Texas.
IF they had said something like 'We are ashamed to be American', that would have been a serious issue.
The Dixie Chicks were famous for their music, not their political views.
So, those who act by boycotting their music - which they are free to do! - merely display a not so minor amount of stupidity and ignorance.
I bet some would have sworn by their music, and now they shun them, because they don't like the DC's stance.
I believe some are clearly hurt for not liking Bush; "Love me! Love my president"* or something along those lines.
It seems that Bush is as close to sanctity as Jesus would be.
On the other hand, it could be said that the DC are partially responsible for their own fate; by writing mostly for uneducated rednecks, there is nothing to be gained by not loving His Holy Exellence Bush (he promised tax cuts!!!).
Maybe, this could be a great opportunity to start an international career? Erm.. for the Dixie Chicks, not Bush!
*as seen on a sticker but reading "Love me! Love my dog!" instead.
