Polls by nature are flawed. You cannot sample 10 people and represent the views of 25,000,000. Bush won the election fair and square (Whether you want to believe it or not).

Approval rating directly corresponds with election. If Bush got 10% of the votes on EVERY SINGLE POLL, then chances are he wouldn't have won the election.
