If the media wants a certain outcome - would they not pick a sample that reflects that? Would they also not ask questions they want to use to create a better "story"?

Yes it creates the news as surly as it creates the polls. Though both were somones idea, meaning someone wanted to do a poll and put it on tv, does that make the poll wrong?
