It's slowed down hugely, it may not even hit 3/4 M at this pace.

I'm happy for her to have this cash and hopefully she retires and is happy. Honestly, she shouldn't have been employed in that position anyway; she clearly sucked at her job.

I think she's donating it all

Not surprised at all, kids when i was in HS ~8 years ago i could easily see them doing shit like this. Kids 20 years ago were probably equally vicious only difference is we have camera phones and youtube today to actually see what goes on. If that happened 20 years ago the only witnesses would be the people on the bus who were paying attention.

Nothings changed guys kids aren't any worse/better than they used to be, shit sucks but its always been that way.
As a kid 35 years ago, I would have stopped the bullies.

Bus monitor harassed into tears...

This happened local to me, so I thought I'd share. Really sucks that this lady had to put up with this nonsense. I'm only 24, and when I was in school this never happened. The last 10 years have really changed, these kids are complete fuckwads.

The video has strong language and may be disturbing, probably NSFW because of the language.

And there is a fundraiser going on to send her on a vacation because she makes so little at her job. It is already at $50k on its first day!

Kids no longer respect their elders and that is even for anyone a year older.

Kids have become like a pack of wolves.

Is the age of texting to blame or the Internets?

Blame has to be on the elders themselves, parents.

Bad parenting plus bad economy plus putting Corporations and Media in control equals this.

Very sad indeed.

The evidence of this phenomenon is clear, just look at the young posters in here, they are no different than those snot nosed brats on the bus.

IMO it's a simple explanation, lack of reper-fucking-cussions at home or no father figure there to administer it. If I my Dad EVER found out I abused an elder like that a belt strapping across the ass until I was red-raw would be thrown down on me, today's kids can call the Sheriff and file charges and this is where we've gone wrong IMO..

If you whip out your belt now you will find yourself in jail for a period of year, divorced and have to pay child support on top of that.

So what alternative form of discipline option is there for parents?

Bull Shit. The police that I know would love for parents to discipline their crumb crushers. I'm not say in "abuse" them, just fucking discipline them.

Butch is spot on.

After sitting down & closely watching & listening to that video I hope the families of these kids are looking for family counseling in addition to individual work for their children. When kids are saying the kinds of things these kids said, something is seriously going wrong!

These kids were talking about cutting this woman with a knife, threatening to go to her home!

the bus driver is not only a bus driver but is also a safety monitor/emergency first responder/behavioral witness/agent and representative of the bus company/incident commander until police/fire show up and accept responsibility for supervision of any on going incident the bus/occupants may be involved with. So slap your arrogant scum bag spawn up side the head and tell them to leave the first responder alone to do their job.

Kids suspended for a year with 50 hours of community service. While I think they should be punished, I don't know if a year off school/at a different school is really going to sink in.

Actually what's going to "sink in" is the fact that these kids aren't eligible to ride the school bus, good old Mom & Dad are going to have to arrange for pick up/drop off for the next year. I bet there will be plenty of. "teachable moments" coming 🙂

I am not for corporal punishment as I don't think fear is a good way to get respect. I would ground them and not let them watch TV, surf the internet or have mobile phones. If they wanted to buy something they would have to work and pay for it themselves.

I tell you what, when I was a boy, and I fucked up and my parents whopped my ass, I never did it again. When they just took away my stuff, and put me in my room, it had little effect on me.

Can I ask how this started? Was it like day 1 they met the bus monitor and began teasing her like this?

I feel this is pretty bad, but at the same time, if you discipline kids, they should at least behave. They might not be angels, but at the same time not all our teachers are hiding in the corner being thrown insults at. We have bullies at schools everywhere, and even if teachers aren't able to discipline them, I have never seen any one of our teachers being disrespected like this.

I feel bad for this lady, but at the same time, I feel as if some of this would be in her control. If I couldn't do anything, I'd go find another job. If you're a bitch at work, you either take control of that and rectify it, or else you'll always be in that hole. And if all else fails you find another job. It's for your own good.

Honestly, I could never let something like this happen. Go talk to the administration at schools, take down names, fight back. This lady is too nice IMO. It shows something to take this for 10 years. While it's sad, to let it go down like this means you failed to do something about it.
