I look at it this way: During business hours, any time I'm doing any business, or any time that I'm wearing my company's name or logo, I have a responsibility to the company to act in a manner that is consistent with the company policies.
This woman was on official business. She was wrong to do what she did because she wasn't just representing herself when she did it. It's not just because it was the President that got the finger.
With that said, these are simply my beliefs. I'm not trying to force them on anyone, but seriously, how could at she did be acceptable to her bosses? I would have fired her too. It could have been Bush, Kerry, Nader, a homeless guy, whoever.
Now, was it within her rights as a US citizen? Absolutely. It was a very lowbrow thing to do, but maybe that's just who she is.
