Lincoln makes it very clear in his first inaugural address that he is not interested in abolishing slavery. He supported the Corwin Amendment for fuck's sake.

He was interested in preventing the south from seceding.

The rest was just utter tripe.

As an aside I do not understand how the flag of the Confederacy is a flag of cowardice, for heaven's sake if it's anything that is just the opposite.

It is the flag of losers, kinda like the other one with the funny shaped cross rednecks like also quite often.

Being proud of the biggest slaughter of Americans in history? By their own treasonous countrymen is a thing to be PROUD of? 100's of thousands of dead Americans, countless maimed and crippled in the streets.

Imagine that on the scale of the only thing we have as a point of reference -9/11's over 1k people slaughtered on their own soil.

About as many Americans lost their life because of the war that flag represents then died fighting all of WW2. More then WW1, and all other wars.

Don't forget the population of the USA was a tenth what it is now.

He also issued the Emancipation Proclamation and supported the 13th Amendment that abolished slavery.

Clearly he was doing his best ot preserve the Union, but once war broke out he did the right thing and freed the slaves..... and was killed for it.

Hahaha. The confederate flag is meaningless to me. However if you burned the US flag, I would get angry.

From the Facebook page:
"Description:
Burn the Confederate Flag Day is a protest against the right's exploitation of racial prejudice for political gain. We urge you to burn the Confederate flag, a long-time symbol of racial hatred, on Sept 12, the date when the racially-divisive Tea Party holds its annual hate fest."
