I'm currently in beijing and this was all over the news a couple days back, made for quite some lol's around here (I have relatives that work in the real estate business here)

rumor going around is that the design and construction of the foundation didn't exactly match up in addition to the river seeping in.

I'm currently living in a similar fairly newly constructed highrise here, and i think most people aren't really that nervous.
