Thanks. Man, I gotta stop and think for a sec about all that money im gonna spend lol. If i didnt HAVE to buy the majority from i could probably spend $100 less. 🙁

Anyone know how much slower the Intel 320 SATA II SSDs are than the Crucial M4 SATA III SSDs? I could get it for like $90 cheaper.

Got the cooler master 212+ for $15 AR! Really wish I would've got that neo Eco. Thanks newegg for not giving me a expiration!

If i got a PCI network card that was 150Mbps would it be much slower than one that was 300Mbps?

Depends on your router. Basically, the 300Mbps one supports two simultaneous streams whereas the 150Mbps one only supports a single stream. Your router has to be able to support two streams for the NIC to be able to use both of them though.

They are a decent bit slower, but are still pretty fast. If you can get a 320 120GB for $90 less than the M4 128GB, I'd say to go for the 320.

Thanks mfen! How would I know if my router supports it? I've got a wrt160n but can't find anything about it through google.

Are there any special things I have to do with an SSD before installing?

That router does support two streams.

Not particularly. You should enable AHCI in the BIOS before installing Windows in order to get the best performance.

Would you guys suggest a 560 Ti over the 6950? I found one for like $180.

The GTX 560 Ti is a decent card at that price.

Thanks once again mfenn.

lehty, mfenn, since you guys advise me most of the time (lol), what do you think of the Intel 320 SSDs (SATA II)? Strongly considering it over the Crucial with all these damn rebates...

mfenn did reply to that, saying at $90 less than M4 you should go for it. Personally I would lean towards OCZ Agility 3 SATA 6gb/s, it's faster than Intel 320 at the same price, though it is considered less reliable (whether that has practical implications isn't clear). Can't really go wrong with either.

Argh...hard choices.

How do you like this mobo?

Over a 6950 2Gb card? No. Some of those 6950 cards can be unlocked to a 6970.

Over a 6950 1Gb card? Yes, especially if it was cheaper in price.

$180 for a 560Ti is a good price right now. I snagged a Gigabyte 560Ti for that price with a rebate on NE yesterday and it comes with Batman: AC.

Yep, that's the one I was talking about.

How would I know if it could be unlocked to a 6970? Downsides of doing so? Risks of trying?

This Sapphire 6950 has the 6970 bios pre loaded, flipping a switch unlocks the shaders. That alone doesn't make much difference in terms of fps(maybe 1-3&#37😉, you would still have to overclock to stock 6970 speeds, the combination of both gives you 6970 performance. Buying the 6950 I linked above removes all the risk involved with flashing cards.

Sweet, thanks! I was gonna get that one anyway. 🙂 I'm pretty close to getting this thing done. Just need to wait until Monday to see what kind of online sales there are. Maybe a sale price can help force a decision.

What DVD drive would should I get? I wish I could get away with just not using one.

I was in the same situation as far as a DVD drive goes but opted to buy just cause there so cheap. Newegg has many different brands in the $20 range.

I've bought a few games from the bargin bin in retail stores that would of cost more to download.

Ah thanks. I saw that you mentioned that, totally forgot about it after i kicked myself in the ass for not buying the Neo Eco. This budget build is starting to not be a budget build haha. Thats ok with me though...hopefully it'll be solid and stay around for a while.

I honestly feel like im building a computer to get it out of my system...but its a pretty expensive thing to get out of my system. 🙁 😀

Leaning towards the XFX since it has a larger fan and is more efficient. Should be quieter. Apparently it's a rebranded seasonic. I don't want this system to be ZOMG loud.

heard some people say AMD drivers and support suck and to NOT get the 6950 for that reason, and instead get the 560 Ti. Thoughts?
