Alright, I'll add mine for a bit. Athlon 64 3400+ 1GB RAM at your service.

When should I start seeing results? (i.e. how fast will I compute?)

Datalink,
I can't give you exact figures but AMD's run very well on DPAD and your's is a king of the hill AMD
😀

Go get em

I downloaded the program, put my name in there, and now I've been running it for the whole day. But how do I tell if it's sending it correctly and if I'm even helping out that much?
Check the stats here. Happy crunching! 😀

I'm not on there...?

For the last week or so it's been running on my Barton 2500 at home (as screen saver only though because I can't spare the cycles when I'm crunching video).

I just installed it as background on my twin P4 2.4's here on my desk.

I like my ranking... heh

DOH, so much hardware that I cannot toss into the fray. :frown:

250 x 2.6Ghz P4C (Another 150 on order)
150 x 1.2Ghz P3
25 x 733Mhz P3
25 x 933Mhz P3
25 x 1Ghz P3
50 x 2.0Ghz Dual Xeon (15 more on order)

New job has real serious security due to the nature of the business. I wish TA the best of luck.

Thanx for letting us know what we're missing...😉🙁😀

Oh, security??? With a little bit more info I'm sure we can work around that... 😉

No, seriously. I know how much it sucks to have all that hw, and you cannot use it for anything meaningful.😀
(meaningful for TA that is).

Well, all is not lost. I'm sure if I talk to the right people something could be swung. They are all 24/7 systems which can lead to some pretty big numbers. I know I am supposed to be adding lots more computers in the coming months.

i'm in...just hoping my university connection will let the files through when its time to send (they've got a packetshapper setup like whoa...nothing ever works). i'll let ya know if it works out.

(1) 533 Celeron
(1) 1800+ Athlon XP

both running using command line.

How do I know when to send the results? I've set it so I manually send them. From the instruction, I see that I'm supposed to have results.txt??? But I've been running for about an hour and haven't seen that file.

As you are crunching, a results.txt will appear in your directory. If you want to send your results manually, click on the manualsend.bat file that should be in your directory.

Thanks for helping out the cause, with all these people jumping ship, we need all the help we can get.

I've been crunching for some time now, but I still don't see results.txt. The only files close to that are results.dat (105KB), auto.sav (1911KB), and autocli.sav (4787KB). But I still don't see results.txt.

I am surprised that I haven't heard of this DC project before... This is going to embarass me but I operate CEBAF at TJNAF. This stuff is my life.

How did I miss this? 😕 🙁

That's weird. I'm not an expert at the DPAD client. Maybe you could try to go to the DPAD main site and post on the forums? Or someone like DanC can help you.

might be a dumb Question, cause i dont know much about DC project...but, is there any way i can run 2 or more instances of this on the same pc? or would it just end up getting the same amount of word done anyway? i'm thinking overnight and when im at class and stuff, i could give it a whole lot more of my resources...

Only if you have a Pentium 4 with hyperthreading or if you have a duallie rig can you set the client to use different threads.

You could just run it with Background priority. This will keep the program running continuously, but will give priorty to the program that needs the cpu the most. I run it in the background all the time my computer is on and it doesn't hamper its performance.

Sorry if someone has gone over this but if I got version 4.4 do my stats appear on the stats page? I only see version 4.3...

I've been up and running for over 12 hours and I don't see my name on any of the stats pages. [TA]Skitzer
Am I doing something wrong here? I did a manual send and it connected and sent out fine so I know it's working and it's crunching away.
Someone help me get a clue please.
