Alright, here's some new installers:

[*]Muon 4.33a for Windows 95/98/2000/XP Mirror 1 Mirror 2
[*]Muon 4.33a for Windows NT Mirror 1 Mirror 2
[*]Muon 4.34 for Windows 95/98/2000/XP Mirror 1 Mirror 2
[*]Muon 4.34 for Windows 2000/XP for users with Dual CPUs or Hyperthreading Mirror 1 Mirror 2
[*]Muon 4.34 for Windows NT Mirror 1 Mirror 2

Feel free to add a third mirror, Wolfsraider.

BTW, the added 3rd installer for v.4.34 (Muon_4.34_HT_Installer.exe) is the exact same thing as the regular 4.34 installer but in the config file it is set to 2 threads already.

particle simulator sounds like a sweet project, too bad they dont have any linux clients.

On the side note, please dont set up PCs just for number crunching. Its a complete waste of resources and defies the point of distributed computing. The whole idea lies in the fact that you are using cycles that would be wasted otherwise. If you set up machines just for doing some random DC project for TEAM whatever, its a total waste or resources.

I work for university of michigan's school of public health and here we have couple of dual 14-way 2ghz xenon machines (thats 28 cpus in one box) that run diskless with the only purpose being statistical analysis. One of those boxes will vastly outpeform your exxon valdez fleet of 10 p2 or p3 machines at fraction of the power consumption.

I'm running it on my main box and I'm going to put it on the upstairs computer before I go to bed. Currently averaging 94 cycles per 100. Trillian + Mozilla + bittorrent = not many CPU cycles. ^_^

P.S. The main box is an AMD 2400+. The upstairs compy is only a Celeron 466 though.

Maybe I can get it running on some of the university computers. :p

If you do, make sure you get full written permission to do so.

This is why.

Finally set it up. I don't quite understand it - but it's functioning correctly and it sends results / information. Anything for my AT buds. We'll take 'em.

ok...just thought of 2 questions...

1) if my girlfriend "switches users" on this machine (running Win XP), will this continue to run in the background under my account that she switched from?

2) if i play a game w/ this running in the background, it will slow itself down to allow my game to run smoothly?

TIA

OK, first of all, if muon is running as a service, than switching users is no prob! But if a shortcut to muon is in the startup, then it won't work. :D

2nd, In the config.txt file, this is what you want to do, Priority for background running ([N]ormal, [L]ow, [B}ackground): B
This gives muon the lowest priority, so anything needing the cpu will get first priority. :D
