Ben Curtis shot himself out of the weekend, tied for second with good prospect for his second Open, ended up missing the cut.

I can't see Watson hanging in for another day, you can't make miracle putts for an entire tournament.

The guy is one of the best golfers of all time. If anyone can do it, he can.

Watson contending on Sunday would be a great story.
I have a feeling that Goosen is gonna win.

I'm gunning for JB or Boo. Would be awesome to see one of them get it.

Regarding watson - I just don't see him having what it takes on Sunday. Even a mediocre round then and he's out of it.

True, if anyone can it would be Watson at Turnberry. But nobody can. It's a great story and I'll give him mad props for holding the 36 hole lead, but eventually the clock will strike midnight for Cinderella. He still hits the ball well, he still manages his game well, he can still handle the wind and the cold as well as anyone. But he's not good enough on the greens from 6' and in. Eventually he'll miss some short par saves and shoot himself out of it. I'd love to see him win, but it's not happening.

After that 4 bogey stretch I thought Watson was done, but then he recovered nicely and shot even par. I don't think he's going to win, but I'm not gonna count him out neither.

Wow, still leads after 3, if he can pull this off it might be one of, if not the greatest victories in this or any sport..GO TOM!!!!!!!

I will eat my words, the guy hung in for another day, but I am still betting against him and pick Cabrera to win.

I want to see Watson pull it off, but if forced to bet I'd take Goosen.

I only got to watch snippets of the action today ... but I'd LOVE to see Watson win ... but I have a feeling Ross Fisher might pull it off. Nerves could be a factor there.

So far my prediction from last night is looking good 🙂 I'm still pulling for Watson though.

edit: whoops just as I type that he rips a 160 yard shot into the spectactors.

I agree, nerves WILL be a factor and if one gets tight and starts pulling/pushing into the thick stuff it's gonna get ugly, that rough and those pot bunkers are no joke, about automatic bogy if one winds up there..

Aaah ... damn 3 year old just woke up (6:45 am here), and now to avoid loud consternation, I have to watch on the laptop vs the 46" LCD. Hopefully I can get her interested in something other than her Thomas DVD before too long ...

Seriously ... loved the word the BBC broadcaster just used ... "Westwood just gunched that down the fairway ..." gunch ... perfect.

Fisher needs to change his shorts.

Wow Fisher, then wheels be coming off quick...

OUCH. Snowman. Just goes to show one bad shot and you can be looking at big numbers on links courses.

Hopefully today's coverage is better than the aweful one yesterday. They only showed like 3 players and almost never showed where anybody else was at. I had to get an online leader board just to check.

He got lucky the hole before when he got that drop on top of the rough instead of the original lie which I'm sure was a lot worse..Westwood is a contender here, rarely makes huge mistakes, just plods along and that might be what gets it in the end..

Good deal, now if Watson can hole a putt or 2 he still has a chance....

It's easier to wait for the others to fall back on this course.

Damn ABC with its 720 signal, can't see some of the balls during a drive.
