Yes, mental health treatment is very poor in this country.

But they are linked. If you allow mentally ill people to go to walmart and buy semi-auto weapons then there is going to be problems. In other countries mentally ill people usually go on rampages with knives and not with guns right from a rambo movie.

The current background check does include mental illness so if these people were being correctly diagnosed and the mental health professionals were properly reporting it there would be an issue.

Contrary to popular belief you can't just walk into walmart and walk out with a gun like it was a box of cereal or a baseball bat.

Agreed. I'm done talking about it. I feel bad for that kid if he isn't the one who did this. Very irresponsible to put his picture and fb page out there if he isn't involved & dead. That is a serious threat to his life. Poor guy :\.

I'll take knives over guns. The added bonus is the additional forensic evidence from the attacker accidentally injuring him/herself.
