Whenever a Republican is in legal trouble, they get to be an honorary Democrat for the day. At least if you're Fox News.
So how do you know that this poll from Fox is more accurate and all of the other polls are inaccurate if you don't know the methodology behind Fox's poll?Originally posted by: Fern

Well, I was mostly joking ... mostly. But okay, Fern, tell me what adjustments/assumptions Fox is using in this case?
I thought I just did (in my post you quoted).
While I do not claim to know precisely what adjustmenst/assumption Fox made in their specific poll, those that I mention came from an interview with a polltser on one of the netwroks earlier today. I.e., they were discusing why that pollster showed better standing for McCain than most others; difference in overall turnout and assumption about which way the undecided will break were the biggest differences he mentioned (larger turnout than other pollsters forcast thus diluting the effect of college age, new registrants and black voters to a smaller % than other polls, and demographics of undecided indicating more breaking for McCain than others think)
If you'll read my earlier thread, you'll find that some polls use far more adjustments than others (e,g., citizens versus registered voters versus likely voters). More adjustments = different results.
Edit: Link to explanation of poll differences & adjustments/assumptions used. Ignore my remarks and just look at the article quoted

I truly believe that if Obama gets elected he will do everything he can to marginalize Fox News.
Right now Democrats pretty much ignore Fox News. Everything I see from the Obama camp indicates to me that they want to take it to them for their lies and blatant biased coverage.
Woops! I'm sure that was a clerical error of some sort. *Ahem*Originally posted by: jpeyton

Thread title had me going for a bit. I thought you meant they were projecting a win by 6 EV when in fact Fox is just putting tons of solid and almost-solid blue states in the toss-up category.
half true.
Fox is also putting states into McCains tally using a formula that IF APPLIED FAIRLY TO OBAMA would be putting some of those "toss up" states into the blue column as well.
seems biased imo.

Fox News Electoral Map shows McCain solidly winning states like IN and NC, where polls show McCain +/- <1 point. On the other hand, states like OR, NM, IA, MI, MN, WI, NH, PA, and VA, where Obama leads by 5-20 points, are toss-ups.
I have McCain either winning by a slim margin or a tie at 269.
Everyone should know by know after the two past cycles you cannot trust Polls.

Lets play predictions...If you want.
I predict early in the evening on the 4th, when the first results come in,
Obama will off the bat win a solid red state not thought to be in play.
Media will be shocked. Writing on the wall for Mccain.
Unless we're looking at different electoral maps (mine's here), the only state you could possibly be referring to is South Carolina?

I hate to call-out a Mod and certainly I'm no fan of Fox News, however, why is the link in the OP under the O'Reilly header? It seems ol' Bill has his own electoral college map and is projecting his warped view of reality as fact (as usual).

Fox is so Republican biased it's silly. They have MICHIGAN as a toss-up state! LMFAO.
I seriously can't wait for the Republican crash and burn on election day. I will literally spend the next four years pointing and laughing at every Republican I pass on the street.

That's not going to help things. This country needs to work together rather than become further divided.
