Wow, thats some good tv🙂 last nights eps was just awesome, esp considering the previous one was also so good. Best show of the last few years, it just keeps delivering without fail, pretty amazing.

What a way to get people to watch your new show.

Was it *really* a mistake?

Sure, it probably hurt them more than it helped. People looking for Rubicon would have found NOTHING in the channel guide that night. So DVRs wouldn't record it, people casually flipping through wouldn't have found it, etc..

The people that recorded Breaking Bad probably just flipped it off when the credits hit anyway.

From the mouth of Vince Gilligan himself. Gale is gone, folks.

That's not what Vince said. Read it again.

VG: Gotcha. That’s interesting, because I’m hearing that from some folks, that question. To me, for what it’s worth, it’s not actually meant to be ambiguous. It’s meant to be, “Oh my god, Jesse shot poor Gale.” But I’m realizing now that when people see the camera come dollying around so it’s looking down the barrel of the gun, some are reading that as maybe he’s changing his point of aim. But that’s not what we intended. Apparently it’s not as clear as I thought it would be.

He never comes out and says that Jesse shot Gale, he said he meant for the audience to have no ambiguity that Jesse shot Gale. He wanted it to look like it happened, not that it actually happened. I still think there's a possibility that Jesse didn't shoot Gale and that Jesse is going to capture him to trade him for Walt.

Ugh... Finally the season is over with. Now maybe we can move on to Season 4.

The rubicon thing was annoying. I saw BB listed as 1hr 47min on my TiVo and thought "Awesome, super long breaking bad". The commercials for Rubicon looked good but I couldn't make it past three minutes in.

The fact that you can't understand anything that isn't spelled out for you in tiny one syllable words doesn't mean the rest of us are stupid too. The producers intentionally went to a cut-to-black ending and they wouldn't have bothered if they were going to remove the cliffhanger in a next-day interview. It was intentionally ambiguous because they wanted it to be ambiguous. There are a dozen different directions this can go and in a bunch of them Gale will be alive. Right now Gale is Schrödinger's cat, he's both alive and dead and even though Vince so completely fooled you it doesn't mean he fooled everyone else.

Nice personal attack, but again, FACEPALM. I bolded the most retarded part of your retarded post.

How much more clear and non-ambiguious does Vince Gilligan need to be?

Gale is dead.

There's a handful of interviews with the creators acknowledging this.

Jesse's "loss of innocence" will be a main theme in the next season.

See here.

The cliffhanger is not whether or not Gale is dead - it is what will happen next to Jesse and Walt.

While I agree it keeps delivering overall, I've been pretty disappointed by a number of episodes this season and a couple over the other 2. There's been more fail than there should be IMO, which really stands out when your seasons are so short. Some really good eps but I feel short changed this season.

count me as another person tricked by the extended DVR. The episode seemed to FLY by since I was thinking it would be a lot longer. Still, it was a very good episode. I don't think I have any complaints about it, which is probably rare. Well, except the opening scene. Not sure I understand the significance though. Just showing Walt reaching big? going for it all? Not sure it really added anything to the episode though

I was happy that jesse man'd up and shot gale. of course he had to get emotional first though...I was waiting for victor to show up

I sort of feel the same way, but then I really had high and probably unrealistic expectations. I could re-watch every episode of Season 1 and 2 and enjoy them again, that's how good they were. I couldn't do that with Season 3.

As I said though, it was probably unrealistic to expect the 'every episode is gold' trend to continue forever.

hahahaha sweet sweet irony how incredibly 100% wrong you are.

IMO the first season was so fresh and out-there to ever be topped, and the second season was probably the greatest season on TV in certain aspects. Season 3 was good, yeah, but at times hard to watch especially with Walt going downhill emotionally and the Hank/Gomez thing deteriorating. It did however pickup after he started cooking for Gus, it's just that watching Walt and Jesse try and fail to sell meth while getting through all the inevitable problems was so much fun, but things had to change. Thankfully Saul is still in the picture as I believe he took the show to another level.

As for what's next... I think the cartel whacks Gus (they hint to the cartel getting back at him in the finale) and Walt somehow takes over. I also don't think we've seen the last of Don Salamanca and his bell, he's still kicking even if Tuco and his cousins aren't. BTW Gale is dead, Jesse didn't move the gun the camera just moved at an ankle to get in front of the barrel. Don't forget "I saved your life, are you going to save mine?"

Dude WTF does it need to be drawn in crayon for you? How clearly do they need to say it?

Anyone wonder WTF was the point of the intro to this episode?

I couldn't tell if that house they were buying was the one they are living in now, but if it was, then maybe they shot that scene a long time ago, back before Walt shaved his head, and thought, "We can work this scene in somewhere." That, along, with the stupid fly episode, was another scene that just seems to be a waste.

I thought Jesse moved the gun at first too. All it took was one quick re-watch to see that the camera was just moving around to show the perspective. Gale is dead and anyone that believes otherwise needs to watch that part again. Long live Saul!

I found it depressing, juxtaposing the hope he had for a big family and an ambitious, wealthy lifestyle against his broken dreams and family. It also shows that Walt can be irresponsible, buying a bigger house than they could afford.

The show features a lot of asides that are for emotional effect, not "logic" or plot..

Actually, no. He obviously lost that battle as it was their current house, and Skyler remarked that this was the best they could do in their pricerange. Walt wanted to look at better houses.

I agree with the general theme though that it showed Walt has always dreamed big but never willing to do what it takes to get it (leaving the chemical company and becoming a teacher for example).... until now obviously.

are you kidding? do you think the actors on saturday night live magically go from long hair to bald and back every week? they're called wigs buddy.

I just hope Saul survives...

Me too, Mike isn't the sort of guy you want to play games with. Yeah he survived this episode, but will he even make it though the season 4 premier now? Lot of balls still up in the air, they didn't even touch on Hank's story in the finale who is now even more of a wildcard than Jesse depending on if he gets back on his feet, pun intended.

I thought the opening scene was a little strange too but very well acted. It may have been a wasted scene in terms of how things will be going forward but it does show how active and ambitious Walt was before Jr. came along compared to what he's become now, possibly trying to regain that ambition he once had while saddled with a family. Don't count out the cancer card either, it wasn't really a factor at all during season 3.

They did a good job making BC look younger. I got pissed when he appeared to be bitching out when Mike was going to waste him. Very well played with the phone call for Walt.
