Brand new desktop for SWTOR

As many of you may know, there is a brand new MMORPG called Star Wars : The Old Republic that is coming out on December 20th. I just finished playing the beta and the game is amazing. My only complaint is that I am only getting 15 Frames per second in the game. The reason for this is because I'm using a MacBook Pro. This is why it is time for me to get a new computer. I am really a veteran when it comes to USING a computer. But I am a beginner when it comes to specifications like graphics cards, processors, etc. I would really appreciate if someone could help me choose a computer that will be able to play SWTOR at around 60-100 frames per second. All I want it to do is play SWTOR. It also has to be a desktop, because I am tired of laptops. I heard on another forum that it's way cheaper to buy computer parts and put the computer together yourself, and if that is the case, let me know. If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me. I would really like the cost to be as cheap as possible, because I will only be using the computer for SWTOR. My budget is 600$ or below. Thank you so much for your help!

I looked at those products, and all those numbers and things don't really make sense to me. But I assume those are great products. My question is should I build my own PC or buy a pre built? Those are just parts that you linked so I'm assuming you want me to build one? I have no idea how to do so.

Don't go pre-owned, you won't get anything good enough to run the game for that money, read the post above.

Sandy Bridge chips will easily outperform the AMD CPUs, but they do cost more.

OP, do you need a monitor/KB/mouse as well?

Randomly cruising through the DIY Kits on Newegg, I found this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboB...t=Combo.752648

$449, i4 2400, 4GB of RAM. Leaves with 150 to spend on a video card, and there's plenty of options in that price range.

I need a monitor and keyboard, but not mouse. A cheap keyboard will do, don't really need a fancy one. And I would like a monitor that is HD, which is standard now a days.

That leaves 150 to spend on a video card, but I also need to buy a computer case, power supply, and all that. This is a BRAND new desktop. I am starting from nothing.

6-cores vs 4 cores in budget gaming is better, specially when you can't upgrade every 6 months.

OP, i'm working on it.

Dell Outlet is your friend. too bad the 20% off coupon ended last month. I got a desktop with an i-5 2400, 6 gig ram for $300. plenty of money left over for video card.

If I were you I'd pick a middle ground. Get a bare bones but functional PC, then put in what you need, like a graphics card add in.

What level PC you want really depends on what you're going to use it for. Do you plan on playing any other games besides TOR? What monitor resolution are you going to play at?

This PC:

plus this graphics card:

should play TOR effortlessly, and it's under $600 total.

Why would you get an HD 6770 and a pre-built?! Logical failure

there is a Dell outlet dekstop brand new not refurbished with i3-2100, 4g ram, going for $100 less than the iBuyPower on the Dell site right now. inventory changes quickly (have to keep refreshing page) so it could be gone by now
