I just ordered an XFX 7800 GT from Zipzoomfly which'll come to $310 after the rebate. I've been using a Radeon 9600 XT for years upon years upon years now with an Asus A7V8X-X. The mobo fried, so rather than buy another socket A board and keep on going I'm going straight for Socket 939 and PCI-E...my 7800 GT is going to provide a gynormous performance boost (and a free copy of Far Cry and Call of Duty 2)!

A brag and a compliment. A while back I bought two Verizon phones, each of which came with a $50 rebate. I got (quick) responsive emails on both, but only one check came. I called Verizon but expected a runaround since it's only been about six weeks since I submitted.

The man handling the call put me on hold for a few minutes, came back and apologized. He said my other check went out with the wrong zipcode and that they would mail me a new one today.

I never thought I would say anything nice about Verizon, but they sure handled this right and promptly.

Instead she waited till black friday and had Sears do a price match guarantee to the Brandsmark ad for 198.88. The new unit came out to 193.xx, a bit less then the used one but with all the extras that the gamestop one did not include. On top of that it was an older unit running OS 1.5, ready for hacking...

Just got a form letter from Verbatim regarding my $25 dollar rebate
for the newegg.com deal I got 3 weeks ago for a box of 8X 100 dvd+r for $52.
It basically said you need to submit the UPC barcode cutout.
Only problem is, I already did when I mailed in my rebate form!
Well, don't what I could do now. Emailed them and no answer.

This is the second time I got screwed out of a rebate saying you didn't
enclose the UPC cutout. No more rebate
shopping fom me. For those getting the current deal for the Verbatim
8x pack of 100 dvd+rs, don't even bother!

I dont think I've ever bragged here before, but I have to this time.
Someone on ebay posted a brand new current model APC smart ups 2200. APC site sells it for $819, froogle shows the lowest price from a reputable retailer is something between $600 and $700 (and thats not counting the typical $100 shipping charge. This thing is a frigging MONSTER it weighs like 130 pounds). Well the seller didn't do that good of a job on the subject line, so I was able to get it for $140+$95 shipping and I was able to use that $15 off ebay/paypal coupon to boot!

I was thinking something more along the lines of 900va capacity UPS, but for that price I'll take this anyday 🙂

What you typically have to do is call them and explain that then fax or mail the copy of the UPC that you made... you did make copies right? 🙂 Just today I had to call a rebate center because they claimed I hadn't submitted any valid stuff. Turns out my stuff was filed under 250 gig hdd $40 rebate when it was really a 160 gig $60 rebate SATA drive I bought. I faxed over copies I had of the stuff, so hopefully they will fix it up.

Ordered a case from Mwave recently because of this Hot Deal posting.

Case arrived and I did a quick once over without pulling the egg crate carriers off the top and bottom. Next day decided to give it the full inspection and found the top (which was hidden because of the packing material on first glance over) completely smashed in like a steel toe boot went into it.

Contacted Mwave late last night explaining the situation. Checked my email just now. They are sending a new case at their cost, and not requiring me to spend my time and money shipping this one back. They said quote..."Keep it for parts, or toss it."



Mwave, I am now a loyal customer!

There was some crazy web price mistake on HP 1320 Laser printers. They were posted for $100 before $100 rebates, effectively FREE AFTER REBATES. This sucker goes for around $300. I was like.. ah what the heck, and ordered 3x. I fully expected that my order would've gotten cancelled (alot of the orders were), but somehow my order manage to slip by. So, I got $900 worth of laser printers for FAR (well..$18 for tax). BEST DEAL EVAR.

Wal-Mart won't price match off their own web site!

I looked up this DVD box set that my wife wants for Christmas on Walmart.com to see if they carry it. The SuperWal-Mart is the only retail store within 40 miles so I am stuck with them for last minute shopping. Web site shows in stock and about the same price as Amazon and other online stores. I go in to their electronics department and can't find the DVDs. Season 1 & 2 but no blank spot on the rack for season three. So I ask the clerk who says that they have some in back and got it for me. I finish shopping and check out when I notice that the box set price is seven bucks more than the price off the website! I got home, double checked and called the store. "Yea, it's cheaper online. We can't help you." #@%&*#$!!! You price match, right? But you don't price match your own store!?! "Yea, it has to be a local store. Can't help you." IDIOTS!
