Brady or Manning... A simple POLL

I'm a Pats fan, so I suppose I'm biased. That being said, I'd say Brady. ;)

1) He's Mr. Clutch. He just about always comes through when the Pats need it.
2) Look what he's done in years past with a VERY weak receiving corps. He's squeezed more out of nothing than any other QB I've ever seen.

Prior to this year I'd consider this comparison a near wash simply because Mannings raw stats were superior. However this year they got him some REAL receivers. I was very much looking forward to seeing how Brady would do now that he's got receivers on par or better than Manning's.

I think the stats speak for themselves.

2007 Stats thus far: (7 games)

1) 2125 passing yards
2) 27 TD's
3) 2 INT's
4) Passer rating around 137.9 (This is absolutely insane, NFL record is 121 [Manning 2004])
5) 73.8% completion percentage

Now I know it's early still in the season, but he's on pace to shatter all time records for #2, 4, and 5.

I still think Manning is great though. In any other universe without Brady he'd be #1.

I voted for Brady, but I wasn't sure if you were intending the poll for career, or season.

Season - Brady
Carrer - Toss-up (Rings vs. Stats)

Give me Manning over Brady any day. Take either of them off their team and put them with a bunch of scrubs and you'll see Manning's natural QB talent takeover more so than Brady. It's in the blood.

Brady. Before this season I would've said Manning (except in the postseason).

In Manning's shoes it would be a shame if he didn't get huge numbers with that recieving corps. With Brady it's like, holy shit how did he go to the AFC Championship game with Reche Caldwell as the number one reciever.

Plus Brady has 2 more rings and he was never supposed to get the first one while it took Manning with an 800 pound gorilla on his back to win one.

I'm not really following you. Brady has had scrub receivers for his entire career, until this year anyway. Manning has always had top-notch receivers, TE's and RB's.

There's more to a football team than an offense.

Put Manning on the Pats and they probably wouldn't have 3 Super Bowls.

As this year has shown, give Brady the weapons that Manning has and Brady is the better QB.

Too bad they're both on AFC teams. Would like to see them head to head in the superbowl.

You did. Last year.

It wasn't the superbowl. I assume they'll be head to head again in the playoffs. Different story.

Manning is the better QB.

Brady's stats up to now have been acceptable, slow and consistent.

Manning has a golden arm, a better Dan Marino.

It's much like the Marino v Elway debate.

Now that Manning has a ring, there is no more debate.

Yeah, Harrison, Wayne, Clark... Stokely in the past... Edge, now Addai.....Saturday, former all-pro Tarik Glenn before retirement.... I wonder how Manning was able to cope all these years

Brady wins hands down. Patten, Givens, Branch, Brown. B. Johnson. Caldwell, Gabriel, Gaffney? hahaha.... manning always had pro-bowl caliber players with him on offense. Brady got it done with a bunch of #2/3 WRs, and has been out of this world now that he has comparable talent on offense.

Anyone who says Peyton Manning is better than Tom Brady is either severely anti-Patriots or severely pro-Colts. Hell, I am a Jets fan - I hate everything about Tom Brady - but he is without a doubt the best QB currently in the NFL, and one of the best all-time.

His stats are uncanny.

7-0 in overtime. 12-2 in the postseason. 24 game-winning drives to break a tie or take the lead in the fourth quarter or overtime. Six of his game-winning efforts have come in the postseason, where he has played in 14 games.

All of this and he's only 30!?

If I had to build a football team from scratch and I could choose any active QB to build it around, it would without a doubt be Brady. You are insane if you'd look anywhere else.

Not bad for a 6th round draft pick.

Without looking at comparative stats I look at it as Marino vs. Montana.

Marino had more raw talent but Montana had better focus, composure, and consistency during high pressure situations.

Opinions are like assholes my friend. I still pick Peyton because I think he's a better all-around QB. I'm not anti- or pro- anything involving the AFC either. Brady is great but I think much of it is the Patriot team being great all around as well as Belichick + staff being great at game planning and making good calls on game day. That's another thing, Peyton has the ability to call his own plays and literally "runs" his offense, and quite effectively. Guess that means he knows a thing or two about reading defenses as well.

And you throwing in that snooty little "Not bad for a 6th round draft pick." doesn't help backup any objectivity you have for the man.
