Fox commentators give their opinions. And most of them are conservative.
They don't make up stories that have no basis in fact and pretend that they are true stories.
Michael Moore does not simply tell the liberal "side" of the story. Leave that to CNN.
Michael Moore makes up his own stories.

I haven't seen Bowling for Columbine but I'll probably rent it this weekend. It seemed to get positive, if muted, press up until Moore's Oscar acceptance speech and then it blew up.

Re: David Hardy's site, I e-mailed him regarding a particular bit on his page attacking one of Moore's interviewees. After exchanging several e-mails he removed the bit from his page. Apparently Hardy was unsure of the veracity of what he wrote, but never posted a retraction or added my e-mail to his 'criticisms' page.

Did you even read teh website?

Check the links the guy provides... his facts are correct. His links go back to the NRA's OWN WEBSITE where they have the OFFICIAL NRA transcript of the speech given and you can CLEARLY see that Moore changed it.

Try not looking like an idiot and at least reading the material that was presented.

whether everything he does/says is pure fact or not, the fact remains that we need someone like this to challenge government and keep them on their toes, while presenting in a fashion that the mainstream can understand... unrest is a good thing

excellent movie
well deserving of the oscar.
If it was in the fiction category, you could at least make that argument.
But it's NOT a documentary.

I liked it. The guy is a moron, but I still tend to agree with him fairly often.

No we don't.
We DO need activists and political commentators on both the left and the right to maintain a healthy debate on important issues and to challenge the viewpoints and opinions of the opposite side.
We do NOT need people like Moore, who uses outright lies and deceipt for no other reason than to make a name for himself. His only goal is to create controversy and to profit from it.

I think it's pretty obvious in this thread who watched this and succumbed to MM's Propaganda.

For those who disagree to this being propaganda, you are wrong, and probably stupid.
For those smart enough to understand this is propaganda, and regardless of how you feel about what was said, decided to look into it more and make your own opinion, you are nothing short of genious.

besides, why pay for it? just put on fox!

i really liked most of moore's projects. this one, i think annoyed so many people simply becuase it got so much publicity and he won an award. he has done far less credible and more annoying things in his day. but i think he is funny. (needs to clean himself up a bit...but funny still)

I really liked this movie. That cartoon was hilarious! Lots of very interesting points that Michael Moore brought up. I'm going to rent his other movies.

As a story... it was entertaining...

as a "documentary", it failed... it was full of self-grandiosing conspiracy theory. people like Moore or more fake then the Hollywood they rail against..

The lies are there on that website. Please refute them point by point, or admit you support a liar.

So I assume all the people who discount Bowling as propaganda also discount this book as propaganda as well, right?

i think you got it dead on. it was very entertaining, like all his work. but, yes, like everything else in our world, it was manipulated to manipulate us.
i think its so funny how people get all angry that someone can like and understand that this film is propaganda. what isnt anymore? propaganda is not just for the conservatives anymore!!! and i, for one, am excited about the widespread popularity of liberal satire.
