I went to shoot this gun with some international students lol. I actually don't really like it too much. We had 5 people total and ended up renting a 9mm glock. That one was smoother and had less recoil. I mean, 40 S&W is a slightly bigger caliber but I didn't know the difference could be so drastic. I guess with practice I'll be able to shoot better with mine, but damn.

the difference is w/ how the gun is created - think recoil spring rate, slide weight, grip design, etc - ballistically 40 s&w and 9mm are not much different, but since you shot them in different firearms, it will possibly show as much more than the numbers would lead you to believe. i have shot many a firearm and 9mm and 40s&w in glocks - both full sized versions and the difference was very, very little, i just went w/ 9mm because of ammo availability and a decent supply of cheap ammo but 40s&w is a good choice.

as to the op - don't worry about what you paid - you saved $$$ on the gun so you can afford more practice ammo :) i have cheap guns and expensive guns, and honestly, i trust my cheapest gun the most since i have had it the longest and have probably at least 10k rnds through it - never a hiccup.

enjoy, take some classes and enjoy more :)

Wow, your FIRST gun. How many more do you intend to get? Isn't one enough?

Still, it's nice to know, now you'll never have to "buy" anything ever again.

I look forward to your first "I shot a N+++++, today" post with the utmost anticipation.

Does a gun make you "more" of a man then, or is it a kinda penis envy sort of thing?

warned for trolling. Now, the rest of you stop stooping to his level. -DrPizza

Guess what. Guns are tools. You have different tools for different jobs and tasks.

Why wouldn't he "never have to 'buy' anything ever again"?

Why would you look forward to OPs first "N+++++" round?

Does making idiotic posts online on a forum trying to berate a guy for buying a gun make you more of a man then, or is it a kinda penis envy sort of thing?

Congrats man. I've never shot a S&W but I'm sure it will be fine. I am still paying my dad for a H&K USP .40 I got from him for $500. It's a great gun and feels nice, I just need to shoot more. I'd much rather have a Kimber but I can't afford a $1000 handgun right now.

HAHaH.

You useless prick.

I own several firearms (pistols, rifles shotguns) and I have yet to kill anyone. There are several on these forums with multiple firearms and I don't think their maculinity has been impacted.
I was a guy before and still have my balls after.

Wow, your FIRST steak knife. How many more do you intend to get? Isn't one enough?

Still, it's nice to know, now you'll never have to "buy" anything ever again.

I look forward to your first "I cut my own steak, today" post with the utmost anticipation.

I fixed that for you.

OP, congrats on your purchase. Treat it well and it will last well past your lifetime. Firearms make great family heirlooms.

Guns are a unique freedom available to the citizens of this country. It just sucks that it's a freedom that's also available to monkeys.

For the weak amongst you, who can only garner strength through force.

It' s irony and satire, not trolling, admittedly it takes a little bit more than the average intelligence to see it, unfortunately, I don't possess a gun or wish too, so can't force an alternative view on you.

To the poster who referenced the steak knife, again I like the reference, yes indeed,

Guns for show, Knives for pro's, know exactly where you're coming from with that, however surely, the hands on approach is better, perhaps strangulation would be better for you, less messy too maybe, and has the same effect, plus you've no need to purchase additional hardware, definately an option for the more cheapskate wannabe pyschopaths out there.

Lets face it, any fool out there, can point and shoot, it takes a modicum of skill to take it to the next level, I hold hope that some of the apes out there can actually look forward to a non violent solution to problems.

So, in other words you shouldn't even bring a knife to a gun fight? You should only bring your body to be a target? Errr wait, not a target b/c you'll have your hands!

Go tell people at Columbine, Fort Hood, or any other person who has had a gunman commit a violent act with a gun that they shouldn't have a firearm to defend themselves.

Grow up. Seriously. Yeah, in movies/games/etc people can disarm a guy with a firearm without anybody dying. Guess what, that's fake. Real world, that's not going to happen unless the bad guy is clueless.

On hindsight you may want to retract that idiotic comment. I've no wish to deter you from your legal rights, however, that argument you make, is in my opinion the very reason why some people should be excluded from the Gun Laws you American have, and in some cases abuse(Columbine,Washington State sniper, etc,etc the list is endless).Sometimes, you need to take a step back to move forwards.

Obviously no one would take a knife to a gunfight, I'm hoping though that maybe some Americans wish to move away from the Wild West, of you're not too distant history, into the 21st century, or even for some of you, a move into the 20th century, might be as far as you could reasonably be expected to move, given that you use past experience merely to validate your point of view, not to justify it or find an alternative, either to yourself, or to others.

Seeing as you have brought Columbine up, (in my opinion unnecessary and insensitive), I would appreciate you "validating" this article for me, using the same logic.

@icebergslim, oh yes, and who the heck are you to tell me what to do,say or think, maybe you think you can control someone like that, all you earn is scorn and disrespect. May I suggest you read which of the amendments/constitution applies to you that doesn't apply to me. Resorting to insult is a sign of having lost the debate, that is assuming you actually DO have an opinion that IS yours, not one of just following the herd, one that is actually borne out of a freedom to think for yourself.
