As long as it shoots straight, it's easy to clean and fits you well, good for you.

Congratulations! Let me tell you something about guns -- you won't ever feel like a cheap ass when a hundred innocents are running from you screaming for their lives. And as you gun them down you can smile, knowing that you saved $50 on your purchase.

... I don't keep the gun loaded. Hell, I don't even have ammo at home. It's locked with a gun lock. I want to have my own so I can take it to the range and shoot. What's your problem?

I dunno about him, but I thought you got fired from your job and that's why you bought the gun. Around here we don't care for mass murderers.

Wow people. Some serious downers here.

Congrats on the purchase. May it bring you many years of enjoyment. I was recently looking to purchase a handgun, but I am leaning towards a Ruger SR9. I guess it's a lot about how it fits in your hand though.

The current generation of Sigmas are very good, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Good purchase.

Smith and Wesson Sigma 40... $50 rebate. Once I get it it'll be less than $300.

I feel like a cheap ass. It's cool and all but it's not a $600 dollar gun. You get what you paid for I guess. I'm going to the range with friends in a few days to try it out!

Thats exactly what I had.
Excellent gun. Shoots well and no issues. I only took it out on the range, never used it for personal protection. Its suprisingly accurate and very easy to maintain.

Exactly! Plus, that $50 will buy a spare magazine and a couple boxes of ammo. Think of how many more people he can kill with that!

I had one years ago. It was serviceable but the trigger felt like shit. I haven't tried the new ones.
Though your $300 pistol makes me feel even more broke considering I just dropped $800 on and HK. :p

Don't you have a sunset at the beach to go cry at?

I've been doing some research for my first purchase. I've tried out about 6 or 7 guns. I haven't tried the sigma yet. I really like the SA XDM .40 . Middle of the road. Fits great in my hand. Had fairly good accuracy with it. Hated the Glock I tried. The 2 Beretta's were good as well(92fs and px4 storm .40) . The sig p229 was by far my favorite that I tried but its too much for a first gun. I might go in this week to try a sigma. The price is so attractive its worth giving it a shot.

The sigma feels an aweful lot like the glock.
In fact when they first came out they were a little too similar and glock sued them.
If you hated the glock the sigma will NOT impress you.

congrats.

now stock up on some ammo. i wouldn't go to the range with less than 200 rounds.

practice, practice, practice ... so it'll be second nature if you ever have to use it.

<- glock 23 owner. love my tupperware.

I went to shoot this gun with some international students lol. I actually don't really like it too much. We had 5 people total and ended up renting a 9mm glock. That one was smoother and had less recoil. I mean, 40 S&W is a slightly bigger caliber but I didn't know the difference could be so drastic. I guess with practice I'll be able to shoot better with mine, but damn.
