You can go super high end and get a HanaModz V3
Variable wattage 7-30W in .1W increments.
at $250 it's a bit pricey, and it's still pretty new so it can be hard to find it in stock...

Realistically though, the one you are looking at looks nice.

Or you can get a provari, basically the MacBooks of ecigs. Pretty expensive but it's got good voltage and customization, can be used to test aromizers and liquids.

I like my evic because it's dual threaded. I can use any kanger tank, evod, or 510 style tank on there. My ego cc fits on there fine and that way I dont have to buy different sets of clearomizers.

Here is a pic to show the size difference. Evic is pretty big but I use it mainly in the house and to test new liquids. It's better for those requiring dialing up the voltage which my ego cc can't do since it only has two modes.

Think I'm going with these two.

http://evic-evic.com/

http://www.discountvapers.com/aspire-nautilus-adjustable-airflow-tank/\

The size I'm not really worried about.

I want something solid and versatile for starters anyway, I can always get a small battery later I guess.

I think I'm sold on the Evic at this point, from posters and reviews.

Why you gotta be posting all kinds of cool shit? Makes me want MORE!

Just a basic Halo G6. It was sleek and had the basic features I want. I went with blank cartridges and juice rather than the reloaded stuff, as they didn't come nicotine free.

I hope you like it. Please do reply with your opinion of it once you try it.

I also want to share how this is going so far. So far, I like vaping and feel satisfied. The only real craving I have sometimes is I miss tapping my can, packing the dip and taking out a fresh, moist pinch. Its the habit that enters the mind, but its not over powering. The e-cig is lucky that its this cool. I'll continue to give it my attention. Its like leaving a girl for another one, the new one better be damn sexy to make it worth it. This one is.
I am surprised how long my liquid lasts me. I seem to be puffing basically all day and so far its not even half empty yet. I get a lot of smoking from my little tank.
Also, the battery (1000mah I think) seems to last at least a full day for my needs. I wonder how long it will go before needing a charge? I got a back up battery anyway, but still I'm curious.

My 650mah battery lasts all day. I usually go through 30ml of juice in 2 weeks. Costs me 9 bucks shipped from mtbakervapor. Atomizers cost a little over $20 and a pack of five last me a couple of months. I use the same tanks and clean them often.

I like the evic for darker juices. I have a dark chocolate mint juice I use with the protank 2 since the smaller Battery and atomizer aren't so good for such a dark juice.

Do post back when you get the halo cig. I've always wondered how they were. They also have tasty juices which I bought a few months back.

Awesome. Thread gets me interested only to discover that I live in a country (ch) where you can't buy liquids containing nicotine. Tobacco companies and their lobbyists....

A few comments from an avid vaper of nearly a year.

Do not vape the 52mg stuff someone posted a pic of unless you want to be sick. It is nicotine base meant to be mixed with additional PG and/or VG and optionally flavorings, thus bringing nicotine content down to more reasonable levels.

To the ecigs are worse than cigarettes because OMG CHEMICALS crowd;

There are dozens of known carcinogens and hundreds of additives in cigarettes. Many of the harmful compounds are a result of the combustion process which produces the inhaled smoke. Ecigs do not burn anything, they heat a liquid to produce vapor which is inhaled.

While it is true the long term effects of ecig use is an unknown the harm from cigarettes is well documented.

Eliquid contains nicotine, propylene glycol(PG), vegetable glycerin(VG) and flavorings. Nicotine at the levels in ecigs has been shown to have some positive effects and the other ingredients have been labeled as GRAS(generally recognized as safe) by the FDA.

While I think routinely inhaling anything other than fresh air into your lungs is probably not a good idea, the notion that it cannot be anything other than horrendous is just silly.

For anyone considering taking up vaping for whatever reason;

Unless you are reasonably sure the small pencil sized ecigs known as cig-a-likes will be enough for you to quit cigs or are just completely turned of by larger PVs(personal vaporizers) then I would recommend skipping them and getting an ego sized or box shaped PV. Most people move on to the larger sized units in a matter of weeks looking for more vapor and flavor anyhow.

The aforementioned MPV box shaped PV is a good starter PV. It has a long lasting battery, takes 510 or ego style atomizers and has varaible wattage mode which allows it to automatically adjust the voltage to give a similar vape experience when switching out the atomizer to one with a different resistance.

If box is just not your style, the Vision Spinner, Joyetech Twist and Innokin iTaste VV are well regarded and are adjustable as well. However they do not have as much battery capacity thus you may need to get two in order to have an all day setup.

As for atomizers I would recommend a bottom coil clearomizer(BCC) from Kanger, Aspire or Innokin. They have replaceable heads that contain the wick and coil making it easy to rebuild your atty.

If you want to skip straight to a larger light saber, mag lite sized advanced personal vaporizer(APV). The Provari is widely acclaimed as the best. As someone mentioned in this thread they are like the ipod of the vaping world, have a cult following, don't really do much other cheaper alternatives cannot but are a high quality product. Personally I have had a great experience with an Innokin SVD and a Vamo V5. These APVs generally have more power and are of a larger diameter allowing for a seemless look when using a rebuildable tank atomizers(RTA) the most popular choice for these APVs. A RTA does not have a head but rather you build the coil and wick it yourself. I like the Kayfun variants.

There are also Mechanical Mods which are mostly a cylindrical tube, sized to hold a battery with a switch on one end and a 510 connection on the other. They can be dangerous without a working knowledge of Ohms law and an understanding of the capabilities of whatever battery you use. They have no adjustability so most pair these with a rebuildable dripping atomizer(RDA) and build the atomizer to the resistance which gives the vape they prefer. I have several of these and haven't really formed a favorite yet.

So my mini BCC has a wick? I have to replace it or....LOL I got research to do. This is fun. Also, went running today after vaping all day and no issues. Its only been a day, but just saying you know.

The Vapeonly Mini BCC has a head. A head is a a prebuilt coil, wicked and installed into an assembly which you screw into the base of the clearomizer thus rebuilding it.

What kills a head is the buildup of carbon deposits on the coil and wick. It will insulate the coil causing it to deliver less heat and choke off the wick from delivering juice to the coil. Someone whom vapes at a higher voltage, takes longer or more frequent puffs will kill a head quicker than someone whom takes shorter, less frequent puffs at a lower voltage.

Another factor is the juice. A rule of thumb is darker and sweeter juices will gunk up a coil quicker than clear or less sweet juices.

Vape On.

Vape on indeed. I recharged this battery and filled the tank last night at midnight, right now its 1am, so this e cig just passed the 24 hour mark and can keep going. I'm going to run it until it quits to see how long it lasts. Pretty sick.

And so far its worked! Yesterday I just wasn't willing to take one more dip, so I went and bought one of these electron based gizmos. Uncomfortable for the first few hours (because I wanted to dip) but now I'm cool and think I'll make it on the e-cig. Using 24mg watermelon and its smooth and tasty.

The rig:

I bought the 900mah twist today, and an aspire bdc "clearomizer" (best i could find here). It's quite impressive. About $80 poorer because of you. Knew absolutely nothing about personal vaporizers/e cigs before your thread.

Fantastic! So you like the thing? That's also exactly what I paid for my set up, including juice and charger.

Only been using it for a few minutes now. Couldn't wait to let it fully charge. It's amazing. I almost got the ecab instead but apparently the ego c twist is a lot better. Probably the best value. Can't imagine wanting more. The volume and throat feel is amazing. lol.

Only problem is it's illegal to sell nicotine juice in CH. I have to go to france or germany, or order online.

So many people really enthusiastic about the ego twist. Like this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ol-Ol8qWPic

"ego twist is a game changer!"

I notice that it's a million times better than the generic device they use in the store for sampling juices.

I use a Vision spinner adjustable voltage, 1,300Mah usually lasts an entire day unless I'm chain-vaping. I'm still using the original Kranger protank which in e-cig world is a fossil but I like the fact that I can buy a 5 pack of new coils for $6.88 shipped off Ebay and it produces enough vapor for me. Some of the extra's of the high-end mods are nice but really with 2 of the Vision spinners and 2 protanks I'm never in danger of running out (unless I forget to buy e-juice LOL)...

Well the big difference is the adjustable voltage, I paid $21 for mine, got 2 (always get 2 so one can be re-charging while your vaping on the other). For the $21 I got a 1,300Mah size which is plenty big enough IMO, yea digital readout's are nice and all that but it's your $$, I don't need a display to tell me if it's working OK, the vape hit itself tells you all you need to know..

Yeah i got the twist because of the adjustable voltage, though i'm only using about 3.8 or something at the moment, which seems fine, and i guess the other ego's/ecab are about 3.8 anyway? Still... maybe i'd need more with different attachments or juices, or even less. edit: actually wow, yeah, with juice change i'm now finding i need about 4.4 to get the same volume. I got the 900mah version because it was literally halfway between the 650 and 1000, sizewise, for some reason. The 1000 is about as much bigger, and only 100 more.

The ecab kit has a removable battery, comes with two, and extras are cheap, so you would only need one device, but that vaporchase guy had negative things to say about it.

Um, one of the best things about the ECIG movement is that the major Tobacco companies are not behind it. The backbone of the ECIG movement is local mom and pop stores mixing their liquids and selling chinese parts.

In fact I expect the regulation against ECIGS to increase dramatically in the next few years as tobacco companies try to lobby to protect their market.

yeah i already have to go to another country to get nicotine juice. I think like 50% of young people smoke here, so they have a lot to protect.

guess i'm a bit obsessed, but think about the savings.

Many people ask, “How long does 15ml e liquid last?” Generally speaking, a bottle of 15 ml e liquid will last the equivalent of roughly 15 packs of cigarettes. This is at the rate of using 3-4 drops of e liquid to yield about 15 puffs, which is about the average among smokers.

http://besteliquidinfo.com/how-long-does-15ml-e-liquid-last/

Try buying 15 packs of smokes for like $7. The atomizers are cheap too, and the ego c twist can be bought for about $22 in the us. Haven't really considered how much it might cost in total over time, but comparatively nothing.

I would say it costs $9-12 for a 30ml bottle every two weeks, at least for me. Atomizers are $25 shipped every 3-4 months. So over time it does cost less than packs of cigs every month.

Still a bit on the fence here, going to jump off soon, but I'm definitely getting an Aspire Nautilus.

Just a matter of what to hook it to, the Mini 134's look nice also.

I'd prefer the eVic Supreme over the Mini134. The Evic can charge the batteries without an external unit (unless you need tons of batteries on hand then you will want an external charger anyway). The Evic also has more precise controls on the vape and can go up to 30W where the Mini134 can only get up to 12W.
