You are right, Hyundai is all about lots of luxury at a low price. But it also true (especially for Hyundai) that you get what you pay for.

One thing, Consumer Reports just review this very car. It got the #2 spot for large sedans with a large distance between #2 and #3.

Honda Accord

Mazda 6s

Buick LaCrosse
Subaru Legacy

All the options, and you chose a Hyundai? LMAO.

Actually, you can get each of those options fairly loaded for the $25k range, except for Subaru. Plus, they would have held their value. That's precisely why I own a Honda and not a Korean imitation.

I'd say it's a wash. Chrysler...Hyundai...what's the difference? They are both crap.
Are they? Proof? Numbers? Stats? Or are you just talking out of your ass.

Edit: And I'm being semi-serious.

Edit2: And please don't use references to models from 5+ years ago.

Meh, I buy a car to drive the s**t out of it, not to invest my money.

Based on what he says the MSRP is for this car he probably got the Limited version which includes:
- 17" alloy wheels with P235/55VR17 tires
- Chrome insert bumper moldings
- Leather seating surfaces
- Heated front seats
- Carpeted floor mats
- Woodgrain steering wheel and door pulls
- Electroluminescent instrument cluster
- Power rear sunshade
- 3.8-liter, 24-valve, DOHC, V6 engine with CVVT and Variable Intake System (VIS)
- 5-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC®
- 4-wheel disc brakes
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control System (TCS) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
- Power-assisted, speed-sensing, rack-and-pinion steering
- 4-wheel independent suspension
- Advanced dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, rear seat-mounted side-impact airbags and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags
- Automatic front seatbelt pretensioners with force limiters and buckle sensors
- Child seat LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system
- Active front head restraints
- Side-impact door beams
- Anti-theft engine immobilizer
- Full-size spare wheel and tire
- Projector-type halogen headlights
- Automatic headlight control
- LED tail lights
- LED center high-mount brake light
- Folding bodycolor heated dual power mirrors
- Chrome insert bodyside moldings
- Chrome insert color-keyed door handles
- Chrome-tipped dual exhaust
- 2-speed/variable intermittent windshield wipers
- Windshield wiper deicer
- Power driver and passenger seat
- Rear-seat ventilation, center console mounted
- Center console with dual storage compartments, armrest
- 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob
- Steering-wheel-mounted audio controls
- Dual zone Automatic Temperature Control with Outside Temperature Display and Air Quality System (AQS)
- Cruise control
- Power windows with driver and front passenger auto-down, auto-up with pinch protection
- Power door locks with remote keyless entry system and alarm
- Electrochromic auto-dimming inside rearview mirror with compass
- Power sunroof with tilt & slide
- Premium Infinity audio with in-dash 6-disc CD changer
- Power adjustable tilt & telescopic steering column
- Power adjustable foot pedals
- Integrated Memory System: Power driver's seat, exterior mirrors and power steering column
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Power folding side mirrors

That's not bad for $25k.

By the way OP, maybe you should turn off the ESC. I've heard people say that these cars handle better with it turned off.

Have it checked out. Maybe its something with the "Electronic Stability Control System" mentioned in the article.

Beyond that, look to aftermarket performance improvements, ie struts etc. (if cars use them these days ). It would be significantly cheaper than returning it and could even be made preferable to stock at an acceptable cost.

What's up w/ Chrysler?

New 30 Day return policy.

I think Saturn still offers that, too, but I could be wrong.

Your best bet is to contact the dealer, but more than likely, you are screwed. Your only real option at this point is to contact another car dealer and use the new vehicle as a trade. youw ill probably take a killing on it, but yuo can see what you owe vs. what the new dealership will give you in trade-value and decide whether you keep it and get used to it or take the financial loss.

i got my last saturn near the end of 2003 and they had that policy. dunno if its still active though. i don't see why not.
although i think you could only return it for another saturn, you couldn't get your money back.

Good idea, I'll turn off the ESC (stability control) and try it. But it sounds like a pure suspension hit/noise. Btw, ESC turns back on when you turn on the ignition.

IIRC, Hyundai's lose their 10 year warranty after the original owner gets rid of their car. You're screwed dude...

Nope. Federal law that requires that carmakers honor the factory warranty no matter how many times the car changes hands.

I'm afraid Fbrdphreak is right:

10 YEAR 100,000 MILES
POWERTRAIN PROTECTION Covers most engine & transaxle components.

Covers repair or replacement of powertrain components (i.e. selected Engine and Transmission/Transaxle components), originally manufactured or installed by Hyundai that are defective in material or factory workmanship, under normal use and maintenance. Coverage applies to Original Owner only effective with 2004 Model Year and newer model year vehicles. On 1999-2003 Model Years, coverage applies to Original Owner and immediate family members (i.e. wife, husband, daughter, son, stepdaughter, stepson).

Second and/or subsequent owners have powertrain components coverage under the 5 year / 60,000 mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Excludes coverage for vehicles in commercial use (i.e. taxi, route delivery, delivery service, rental, etc.).

I'll walk to work before I touch another Hyundai. We ditched ours a few weeks ago after 4 years of problems and SH*T (!) service.

With Hyundai, the 10 year/100k becomes 5/60k for the second owner.

I had a Hyundai Excel GLS as my 1st car. I got it used with ~5100 miles on it. It was crappy. Every time i turned around, something would break. It was a true POS. I've heard they are much better than they used to be, but I wouldn't touch another one.

actually if you knew what you were talking about instead of going off what other people say then you would know Hyundai's are actually good cars.

they have gained in releiablity and resale value over the last few ears.

hell the hyundai mini-van is the top ranked (i think could be #2) in safety and reliablity oh also really good on the cost.

same with many of the cars. the reviews on them are outstanding. for the price of the vehicle you get a very good car.

his mistake was not really test driving the vehicle (and buying new heh).
