How much? Well, without a bunch of time wasting benchmarks I'd have to say a whole bunch of butt. I've been able to go to full-detail on FC, D3, DoW and T:V at 1280x1024. I knew $400 would buy a worthwhile card, but I've been truly impressed by the GT. :thumbsup:

Yeah I use coolbits and I just kept the frequencies at stalk for 2D use. I'd imagine just like a normal CPU, the GPU always has to remain active on standy-by just incase a request is sent to it. You would need a equivalent option like AMD's cool'n quiet mode for the GPU to get it any cooler.

Mine went up ~5C when I clocked it down to 300MHz in 2D.

Here's my effort to get back on track: The 6800 OC GT supposedly uses to PCB itself to dissipate heat. This SEEMS to be true it that it operating temps dropped by a fair amount when I pointed a fan in its general direction. I haven't broken 58c load since I did this.

are you considering using an NV Silencer 5 with the BFG? since it starts off overclocked anyways it will run a hot on the default BFG cooling setup, ive heard the NV Silencer 5 gives it big difference in temperature, like ~10 celsius or more (forgot where i saw the review)
