Apparently, some time monday night. When I got up for work Tuesday morning, I saw him laying the floor of the cage, half in and half out of their plastic igloo. He's always had a don't bother me when I'm sleeping attitude, so I left him alone.
I got home from work later than usual, and he was in the same position. This set up alert flags, and I open the cage door to check on him. He was cold and stiff. 🙁
He seemed fine sunday night when they were both out for some play time. There was nothing to suggest any poor health. He wrestled with his brother, ate his treats, climbed on the jungle gym(me). It was perfectly normal.
And 24 hours later, he was dead. 🙁
Today, my remaining rat, Minsc, is extremely depressed, he hasn't eaten in at least a day, his perpetual grin is gone, and he's just moping in my lap. He's refusing food, even treat-type foods.
Its sad.
