Well it says that's what the tax assessed value is...is selling price different?

Tax value is the value of the home given by the gov't and is generally always lower to the "market" (ie selling) value of the home.

How much lower? It really depends on the area. In florida for example, the amount is a huge difference. Sometimes off by 200k (home valued is 200k when market value is 400k+)

Click on house,
Click See Home Details,
Click Refine Value of House,
Follow directions (5 steps).

I found that adding a bathroom (which I wanted to do myself for fun and not much cost) would seriously increase the value of my house in the formulas.

Cool site but inaccurate as all hell. It doesn't have the correct amount of bathrooms for my house and my nieghbors house, the exact duplicate with same property minus a garage is worth $10,000 more?!?!?! I don't know where they are getting the data from but it aint good.

there is no Zestimate though on there so looks like i cant.

i think the county only has us as 1.5 baths, as if we were 2 full baths, we would need a larger septic.

It listed my 3 unit apartment building and 4 garages as a 1 bedroom,1 bath, 1 story, 400 square foot building worth $217,000

I made the changes to correct it and my value jumped to $4,665,182.00! I will sell it to anyone right now for a flat 2,000,000.00 any takers??? That is half price!!!

Bought my house 3 years ago, its saying its worth 75k less than we bought it for, and I thought it was a steal for the price we paid. The amount they say its worth is a joke, so I'm not sure where they are coming up with the value. The comparable homes are all showing up as worth 100k more than mine.

They're not big brother - they aren't going to know the specs on every single house in their database. This is why they give you the option to change the specs ;)

The data on this site is from 2003. It's way off and totally useless.

I just had my house appraised like 2 weeks ago at $245k. This site shows it as $150k. That's less than I bought it for back in 2001.

It's still considered "Beta" and there's a good reason for that. It's not going to be accurate for everyone.
Pricing in my neighborhood is realistic, if not totally accurate.
