Ya I opened all of those. I opened every port that I saw mentioned when searching for fixes. I used portchecker to see if they are open and some of them aparently weren't, but they did open when I opened them under "port range forwarding" instead of "single port forwarding".

This shouldn't affect why I can't see any games online though right? There must be something else.

You still can't host a game for your friend to join? And vice versa? You guys have added each other to your Gamespy friends lists? That list is tricky. For example, I accepted the friend invite from my friend, but couldn't play any games with him until I typed in his name and added him to my list. He had to accept my invite as well, even though we could see each other on our friend list. I had the same issue with Unreal 3, so this might be an Unreal engine thing too, not quite sure.

As for the online games thing, people may have given up trying to host open games by now and are only playing with friends. I know I haven't been hosting any online games, mostly to avoid the general public. I'm lucky though and have large group of friends that plays Borderlands.

anyone have problem with ninja looters? every game it seems that if there's a case there's a race to it...

Some info on the installation of the DLC: http://news.bigdownload.com/2009/12...nds-v1-1-patch-and-dlc-de-authorization-tool/

Apparently to use the DLC you need to install the 1.1 patch. Also, the DLC is protected by SecuROM and has a 5 machine install limit. A de-authorize tool is available if you remove the DLC from a machine and want the install back.

Lovely.

That's what turned me off from the DLC. I have Borderlands on Steam and it has no DRM (except Steam itself), but the DLC has extra DRM. It's just... weird.

Yeah a friend of mine was all excited about the DLC & had gotten it (wanted the rest of us who play to get it), but the Securom thing = no way i'm getting it.

Finally, found this thread.

I wanted to give it a bump because I've found out more about the third DLC, namely The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, which might well be worth it. If any of the information so far "released" about it (probably unofficial) is true, I for one will buy it, and it'll be my first Borderlands DLC since both previous ones weren't interesting enough for me. Additionally, there's a patch coming soon with some interesting changes and fixes (patch 1.30).

Yes new patch is 2/25. I really enjoy borderlands. this game is great. I only started playing it today, but it is really good. Wish I had an i7 & 5870 to make it look great... heheh. My e8400 and 4850 do okay, this is one of the more stressful games, but looks beautiful.

Nice! I might have to pick it up as well - I'm level 38, barely into the 2nd playthrough.

I just went on a quick gun run to remind myself what I've got to work with. I'm super excited for a bit of new content for this game, Mad Moxie didn't hold my interest. But this looks so much better.

Have they fixed all the bugs yet? Can I join multiplayer games? It would be nice if they would fix the game first, before working on DLC.

I can join multi-player games, maybe your own connection is the problem, or you don't have your router ports forwarded, or your firewall is blocking the game.

If you see my previous posts in this thread, I tried everything. I had no firewall, no antivirus, and forwarded every single port I could find, followed every guide and suggestion on the net. I couldn't host a game and have a friend join, and I couldn't join a random game, or even see a list of games. I have no other problems playing any other multiplayer game.

I haven't tried since December though.

That sucks man. I only play with people on LAN and I've never had any problems. A few crashes, not nothing unbearable.

I just installed the latest patch which is supposed to fix the multiplayer issues, but I looked for a list of games and there was only 1. I don't know if this is because it's still not fixed, or if all the online games are private, or if nobody was playing at the time. I'll try later with a friend to see if we can set up a private match.

edit: looks like there's a new patch out. 1.30
the two big changes that stood out to me is the rebalance of New Haven chests and how you can't load invalid weapons and items into the game. I assume that means that farming New Haven won't produce so many good guns anymore.

Knoxx DLC is a decent step up in toughness from previous content (did not buy Moxxi DLC).

it's probably because everything I'm fighting has at least +1 level on me though.

lol Lucky died and Moxxi has a son.

Im having a blast with the new Knoxx DLC. Its tough but im glad they stepped up the difficulty. Was starting to think the game was getting too easy with the past 2 dlcs.

Online works great. Been playing with a few other friends and they all still have no troubles logging on to my game. (I always host)

Anyways off to play! Deffinetly get the Knoxx DLC if you seriously want to breath more life into your Borderlands experience. You will be glad you did.

Any chance that explornet is your isp?
