lol I really never understood why people cheat in these sort of games.. Especially one this easy hahaha

Pretty much because Gearbox gives them the possibility to do so very easily on a silver platter. What Borderlands needs the most is a closed on-line mode, because right now anything can be done with those stupid save editors.

They [Gearbox] said they wanted to "wait" and see what the cheaters would do, and then they would counter-attack. I doubt they'll be able to do anything since doing a closed on-line mode apparently wasn't even part of their plan at all in the first place, and I doubt they'd make that a reality just by doing patches, they would actually need to create proper servers for that, which they probably don't have.

Fun fact: The entire plot makes sense if you think of it as one big sexual metaphor.

Unrelated: The final area on playthrough 2 might as well be called 'Hunter's candyland'. The enemies there are worth large amounts of xp, but are entirely dependent on their shields for defense. Mordercai can max his shield ignoring skill, making 100% of attacks ignore shields, and even superbads go down in a matter of moments.

Since you're certainly level 50 by the time you get there, this may not seem significant, but your proficiencies probably aren't level 50. The high XP value is also your gain for proficiency.

End result, in 2 hours I took my pistol and rifle proficiencies from 21 and 15 respectively to the max of 50 in both.

I didn't read through the entire post, but Borderlands is essentially PSO (for those who've played it). In other words, it's one of those games you finish quickly, have a blast running through and then put it away for a few weeks. Hop back in down the road, have a blast again all the way to 50, and put it away once more.

This game is like a giant pile of your favorite ice cream. You love it but get sick of it quickly.

I would say this game is very mainstream 🙂 The car is wtf powerful. How can I just run over anything and kill it?

Wait until you run on one or two level 45+ big Spiderant and Bandit variants, and that's if your car don't explode before you manage to approach them.

I'm running a 4870 1gb and it's been rock solid stable. But I'm vista 64 bit - if it's a problem in the 32 bit drivers, I wouldn't see it.

Are other ATI 4800 users having the crashes as well? Fix yet?

Not sure what type of crashes you're experiencing with your 4800, but I've had two video related crashes that were identical with my 5870. Pretty sure it's video related because the screen will just go to a gray striped pattern, but I can still hear the sound. I have to do a hard reset to get things running again. This has happened once in Win 7 RC and once in Win 7 Pro (fresh install obviously) - both x64 with Cats 9.10. Aside from these two isolated crashes, it's been fine. Not sure if it's an ATI issue or game issue.

Hmm the game looks interesting. I'd probably play a Lilith as I've always been more liking of the agile type characters.

Build-wise, I was considering a sort of ranged shooting-oriented one similar to another user prior (can't remember who).

Something along the lines of this: http://downloads.2kgames.com/borderlands/website/skilltree/lilith/#21500505500000005050500

There are still 10 points left, I was considering Quicksilver, but after that I'm not too sure since I've never actually played the game 😛. The point of it is to use the daze effect to keep enemies at range. Oh and they really need to drop Flash for their talent editor... having to reset the entire thing to change a point is kinda lame.

The story only brings you questions, so I would ignore it for now. They are planning on exploring it further later with either DLC or sequels/prequels.

Wow, so they release an incomplete game for full price, then expect you to pay extra to finish the game?

My current build: http://downloads.2kgames.com/borderlands/website/skilltree/lilith/#21505050550500005005500

I found that build to be the best out of the two previous ones I had. The possibilities are high but in the end, after you get past level 40 or so I would say that Mind Games and Slayer are perhaps the most useful ones, and not only that but they are also pretty much essentials for me, I tried both previous builds without them both, and I did notice a noticeable difference, it wasn't pleasing, it made her generally more vulnerable.

The best thing to do, which I haven't done, but should have done at first, in my opinion anyway, is to go for Mind Games the fastest you can and max it. Then look for the rest. If not, go with Slayer first, head shots and critical shots in this game are not only essential but quite easy to do. Also, if you focus on only one gun type then Quicksilver is a must, especially for the SMGs, which is the gun type that Siren specializes in due to her Class Mods (the Mercenary variants) helping her for that specifically, SMGs in general already have decent fire rates, but combine a Double Anarchy SMG with a base fire rate of around 10.0 with SMG Proficiency levels along with Quicksilver and you'll completely destroy everything in your path without even the need of a single elemental effect.

You obviously know this game better than I do, but I'm curious about a choice or two...

Why go with Hit & Run over Enforcer? Is the increased phase walk duration really that good since the rest of the talents push ranged over melee (making the +melee portion somewhat worthless)? It sounds like there are usually plenty of mobs at once, so Enforcer may see some use, but it'd probably be useless in single mob scenarios.

About some of the Controller talents. I was looking at having Girl Power + Diva making the health talents somewhat worthless. Yet again, I think this provides more prowess in multi-mob skirmishes as Girl Power only activates when you kill a mob. But essentially, I chose those to boost the shield so health isn't as much of a priority.

Yes, those are the crashes. I have to do the same. I'm going to revert to older drivers today I think. It also might be FOV changing, but I'll see.

This is the current build I'm working on: http://www.borderlandsthegame.com/skilltree/lilith/#21505050555500055000000

I'm still at level 20, and I'm filling up the Controller tree first. Next will probably be Slayer. I've generally been using phasewalk defensively to get out of trouble/regen health, and not offensively.
