put in like 25 hours doing all the quests in coop to complete the game on play through one, and that was with sometimes running 2-3 side quests at once to kind of get em out of the way at time so we could progress the story (we way out leveled play one finishing at level 37 thanks to xp mods)

going to do play through 2 now, hoping to find a way to keep the difficulty at 4 player levels even when we only have 2 or 3, console command or config setting... if anyone knows or has read about such a thing...

oh yeah all 25 hours was good 🙂

I got this installed and running last night. Played for a bit. I killed nine Toes and went to bed. The time I spent playing was very enjoyable. I was running at a nice 45-60 fps the entire time at max settings. I am looking forward to trying some coop. I don't know how much I like the sniper class, but it wasn't bad unless I get swarmed. Good thing I have a SMG that sets things on fire.

Wait... are you saying that you're playing with a MOD?

After messing with it some more, I've come to the conclusion that I liked hellgate london better.

Really? That is pretty surprising because I felt that this game did everything right where hellgate london did everything wrong. I hate the gun play in hellgate london more than anything. There was practically no reload and all you had to do was hold down the button. Talk about boring. Walk around a map with the mouse button held down.

I would be interested as to why you think hellgate london was better.

I never considered hellgate london a terrible game and don't considering this one terrible either. It's just everything seems much more bland and less varied in this game, which is saying a lot comparing it to a game that's mostly copy pasta to begin with.

The game's been out for 2 days and you've played 25 hours. 😕

As do I since I think most people who I have played with are saying it's better than Hellgate London is. I personally didn't play Hellgate so I can't compare, i just know that people think it was really bad.

Edit: whoops you already replied -

Ahh, okay I can see what you mean. The variety for me is coming mainly from the guns. It does seem like there's little variety elsewhere, although some might call it consistency 😛 Not me though, there's not much variety outside of weapons which even then have some consistency as well.

Seriously, talk about self control issues. Unlike him I'm only at 21 hours.... oh wait, I guess I should talk about self-control issues.

My defense? When you are playing coop with your friends you lose track of time 🙁

I think he meant the +xp talents certain classes can get. Increases personal and group xp.

Anyone find any cool guns yet? I found a revolver that shoots splosions. So I'll be aiming at a guy's chest and his head will magically pop off.

The game's a bit easy so far, especially once you get some good guns. But occasionally I'll run into something that kicks my ass, like Mad Mel.

It isn't that hard on single player the first time through. However it scales to harder and harder levels with the more people in your party. 4 players = hardest = best quality loot.

Correct - I am playing soldier and I was wearing a +22% xp "Leader Class" mod thru the last third of the game or so.

I gotta say the XP mods make it pretty easy and so that's why we're looking for a way to make it more difficult, by adding phantom players or something.

Even the starter area on play through 2 is too low for level 37s, I strongly suggest people not play with XP mods if they're going to complete all the quests on play through one and not just the main quest line.

I'd have to disagree with you about HG:L.

I played HG:L for 4 months with 3 other real life friends. I took an evoker to 50, a guardian to 50, and played my friends Hunter extensively. I know what HG:L looks like, and while the game wasn't awful, it was very very bland, and much less varied than Borderlands. All the street levels in HG:L were exactly the same man! And don't even get me started on the freaking tunnel levels... god. There's a reason the game did not do well, why do you think it's not even around anymore?

Borderlands looks amazing, and is in no way bland. Besides, the draw of this game is the item hunting. Looking for better and better guns is what this game is all about. Some people couldn't care less about hunting for better guns, others love it. I happen to be all about doing treasure runs, looking for the legendary and rare artifacts in games, so Borderlands is right up my alley. It's even better that the FPS is spot on. Once you do the tweaks that adjust the FOV, disable mouse smoothing, and toggle aim on/off, the game is perfect.

There is a chest in the Arid Badlands (first area you start, across the road from that little arena where you do the quest to survive a few rounds), that consistantly spawns level 25'ish guns. Go across the footbridge, into the bandit highrise as I call it, and all the way to the right as high as you can go. All the enemies around the chest are in the 14 level range, so it's extremely easy for a level 25 char to farm that chest over and over and over. I've gotten some amazing drops from it. I can't stop myself from doing those runs, haha.

Just finished the first playthrough. Had a blast. Going to do the second playthrough which supposedly is even funner.

Just did my first dungeon. Wow you get way too much crap. I had to run back to sell stuff like 5 times. Also annoying that guys at the beginning of the dungeon respawn.

What are you guys playing as? I'm a level 27 Hunter now and I'm having a real love/hate relationship with the game.

Now have a 36 siren, 14 soldier, and 23 berserker. It's fun, I usually hate grinding in every game, yet the grinding here is quick, easy, and fun with friends. It's a pretty easy game in most aspects, so the fun for me is leveling, using new abilities, and of course the loot.
