Borderlands coming Oct 20th

Gearbox finally announced the release date for Borderlands as Oct 20th. The otherworldly post-apocalyptic-ish RPG Shooter was previewed on X-Play yesterday where they talked with the Gearbox CEO about the story, the art direction, the 4-player co-op and more while he and three other people played the game on set.
 
Is it just me, or was that just 4 minutes of watching people revive each other? Honestly, I wasn't impressed...However, I am still hopeful the game will be fun, but I probably won't be purchasing because I'll be too busy with Modern Warfare 2 and The Old Republic.

I seriously doubt The Old Republic (I assume you mean the new Bioware MMO) will be out this year. I'd say Winter 2010 for that game to be honest but at least their other single player RPG Dragon Age is finally coming. Finally.

Heh. I think it was because the guy was trying to talk and play at the same time. There's a video of a Forza 3 dev showing off the game and trying to talk and play the game at the same time. He ended up all over the road and crashing a bunch.
 
ugh...more of that cell shaded crap? that has to be the worst invention/art style for video games ever. every game that uses it looks like garbage.
i just got Prince of Persia for PS3 and it seems to use a sort of cell shaded style and it just makes the characters stand out horribly against the 3d backgrounds. it's not as bad as this borderlands is, but still kind of meh.

Me too... Seems more of the Oblivion/Fallout 3 style RPG which I prefer to the JRPG styles.
 
Bumping this thread; this comes out in a few weeks. I don't buy many games at full price since I rarely seem to have much time to play them and they hit lower prices by the time I get around to playing them anyway (Fallout3 I'm looking at you) but this one looks like a lot of fun, something I'd pick up at launch.

It would be cool to have a dedicated group who wants to play co-op if anybody here is up for it.

If you are XBL, Count me in; this is a day one pick up for me. I don't care what toon I play, sniper, tank doesn't matter.

Usually I'd probably buy this on the PS3 to enjoy with friends, but this article has made me decide to pick it up on the PC instead, already got it pre-ordered. Can't wait! Looks all kinds of awesome, no matter what platform.
 
Pre-ordered for PC, hopefully there's no ridiculous DRM, I bought through Amazon so I can always cancel if some news surfaces before it ships. Seems like it'll kill some time, hope it's fun.
 
You should also note that the release date got pushed back to oct. 26th. But I am totally looking forward to this game! This is really what hellgate london should have been!

it got pushed back for the PC release but not the console release.

I've been looking at this game in the PC gaming forums and it looks really slick. I have a $50 BB card coming from CC rewards, so if this game gets solid enough reviews I'll be all over it. I might be all over it regardless of reviews and then dump it on goozex if I really don't like it.
 
Well it be less boring than Fallout 3? Seems there are plenty of talk on this subject that it will.

I bought Fallout 3 last week and lost interest after a few days, just not my cup of tea. Last time I had fun with a RPG was Deus Ex on PC and SW: KOTR on the Xbox.
