so i beat PT1 yesterday, and i noticed an "undiscovered" quest in my log which was lvl 50 and labeled "impossible" and also a note popped up saying something has opened up in the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve. i didn't bother going to it and just went into PT2.
what was that?

i did get a nice orange pistol from the warrior with corrosive and burst fire while zoomed.

Anyone else have a hard time with Wilhelm on playthrough 2? I have died several times trying to bring him down. It's usually rockets and missiles that track me anywhere on the map. I can't find cover.

That would be the mission to fight Terramorphous. Not sure what opened in the Wildlife Preserve. Terramorphous is accessed through Thousand Cuts.

ugh, who thought steam cloud was a good idea? My internet was down yesterday and steam didn't say whether the local files or the steam files were the more recent ones so I wrote over the steam files with the local files...lost a bunch of gear and 2 gold keys.

Also, I think it's time to raise the max level from 50...I don't feel like I have any incentive to do the side missions anymore.

I have taken him out 2 times in Playthrough 2. One time with my commando (alone) and another time with a friend.

Alone it was fairly easy, but when we where two it was hell.

You need to take cover inside the little valley where the fast travel station is. Try to squeeze in the corners when the wildest action is going on.

I think there is a way to turn off Steam Cloud, and you really should because it tends to be unreliable.

There is

right click -> properties -> updates tab

If it isn't too late, you can back up your BL2 files under Documents then pick the cloud version. If that's the wrong one then restore your backup.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried this myself, do at your own risk. Safety not guaranteed.

Hmm I think I need to either reduce the points in my Mechromancer's health for shields talent or remove it completely. Some mob will tap my shield, and blewp... there goes 5% of my health when I kill it. That happens -- a lot. I'm tempted to just get the shield regeneration talent from the BFF tree as that's what I've used on other characters (in Borderlands 1 and 2).

I was going to farm Mick Zaford for Maggie but I was lucky enough to get it on the first try!

Ahh that weapon is really close to being like my ol' pal from Borderlands 1... the Savage Unforgiven! Man, that weapon was incredible... you justaimed at a crit spot, and waved good bye! So, I'm guessing that it's a better idea to take the Hodunk's side?

EDIT:

Oh, and it appears that True Vault Hunter mode is practically like playing a new expansion in World of Warcraft... you pretty much kiss all of your old gear goodbye! I replaced a level 32 epic shield with a 34 green!

Absolutely. If you get lucky enough you can get the mod that consumes 2 ammo per shot but also fires 10x projectiles per trigger pull instead of 6x.

I'll have to keep that in mind! But first, I have to be able to kill Flynt, which as pathetic as it seems... I can't even do that. :\ It would help if I wasn't stuck having to get close to him because he's apparently resistant to every goddamn element and has high armor. My gun does 10k to everything else and 2k to him. Sadly enough, it's more effective to shoot at the floor and keep my distance.

EDIT:

I feel terrible. I had to stand on the platform and cheat like I said I never would. I bring shame to my family. :$

This is a really noob question, but how do you get Golden Keys in this game other than waiting for shift codes? Are they hidden throughout the map such as in Torchlight 2?

I'm finding True Vault Hunter mode to be a lot more enjoyable. I guess it's because I'm ignoring all side quests (so I can do them once I hit 50), and the enemies are actually my level! Although, it seems the enemies are actually scaling to my level, because I gained a level or two throughout the Bloodshot Hideout and the enemies didn't seem to get any weaker (either that or the increase in level is intended given they assume you will gain enough experience in between). Although, the robots at the dam melted like butter when I took out my E-Tech-equipped caustic SMG!

I'd imagine that my method for killing the Sentries would probably amuse a few people. I realize that once I hit around 150+ Anarchy stacks, I can't really hit them very well as they're flying around. So... I just aim at the floor and shoot! Once I see the experience number pop up, I know that I killed it.

I also found the Lascaux to be much better this time around, and it's pretty amusing to watch the bullets bounce around the room like a crazy game of Pong.

The only way to get the golden keys are through pre-ordering the game, signing up for Shift through the game and the Shift codes.

Great game, I am just getting addicted to it. Haven't had as much fun since I played Mafia 2 last year.

Well that's lame. I was playing and the power went out for 10 seconds. Booted back up and the game crashes on the opening videos everytime. Disabled videos and it still crashes. Reinstalled and it works fine for a new game if I delete my save file. Put save file back in and it crashes. Guess I'm done with BL2 then. I'm not re-doing that 40 hours.

Glad your enjoying tvhm. Personally I hit a wall at Bunker with my zerker (and some other mini bosses) which took some grinding to get over, but overall it wasn't too bad solo.

Starting to get burnt out on the game myself, farming just isn't my thing I think, and that's all there is too do at this point with my two main characters.

Gearbox will be releasing SHIFT codes tomorrow for Halloween-themed outfits. They will last until Sunday.

Well, it's just nice to finally get loot that's actually useful for once. :p I still sell a bunch of stuff, but it's not uncommon to replace a green item or find a nice epic. I found this interesting E-Tech Pistol that shoots what seem like sticky, timed incendiary rounds. It's not great as an Anarchy-spec Mechromancer once your stacks get too high, but it's a lot of fun until then!

EDIT:

I think I have to retract my statement. Super Badass Varkids are just a fucking joke. They burrow, come up, shoot that one-shot goo at me, hit me even while I'm running and burrow again so I can't get a second wind even if I try. :\

Ugh, I give up with this game. It's ridiculously hard when playing solo without grinding a ridiculous amount to put you above enemy levels. I'm fighting that huge thresher and it's two levels above me. If it hits me once with its projectile, I DIE. I literally have to run the entire time and shoot from as far away as possible. :\

EDIT:

You've got to be kidding me... I go backwards to get away, and what does the game do? Spawn a Super Badass Loader that's three levels above me. -_-

When you mentioned super BA varkids, i was thinking man wait till you see a Super BA Fire Thresher.

Just spend some time in one of the arena fights, thats where I went when I needed to grind out some levels. It wasn't that bad at all, you'll get one or two levels fairly quickly. Or do some sides that give out eridium or green rewards (in case you were saving the others for level 50).

Also is this on your maya or gaige?

Well, I've beaten the main storyline twice and finished the DLC last night. I've done a little farming but not much.

We really, really need higher level caps and MOAR CONTENT!!
