Anyone looking to organize a group playthrough on Steam? I played BL1 to death on xbox but I don't have many Steam friends and $36 on gmg is too good of a deal.

I'd like to but I will be pretty busy till the end of the month :(

I created a few builds, and I found that Axton and Salvador were the only two that I chose any bottom-tier talents for. With Maya and Zer0, I made hybrid builds.

On a few of them, I wasn't able to allocate all of my points either (in case you were wondering why my numbers didn't add up :p). Of course, all of this might change depending on how good some of these talents end up being or what guns I prefer using. For example, I'm a bit shaky on Axton's Assault Rifle talent because I've never liked the burst fire aspect of the Assault Rifles, and Vladof never had any decent rapid fire ones.

I'm extremely tempted by the GMG deal, but I've gotten so burned on preorders lately, I'm just going to wait. Last couple of games I preordered my Xfire setup didn't even begin to remotely start working till 1-2 months later. I know, my problem for doing Xfire, but I gotta live with it. Plus I haven't even played Borderlands 1, and I'm going to preorder Borderlands 2. No. I like reading reviews and see hows its received, before I make a purchase even if GMG's deal is incredible.

Deal at GRG: Borderlands "Season Pass" DLC available for $22.50. (Regularly $29.99)

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2270317

Was going to make sure to post that in case no one else did! It's a pretty nice deal as you get the DLC for ~$5.62 each. Chances are you may only see Borderlands 2 on sale for about 33% off during the Steam Christmas Sale, but I doubt you'll see less than that (note: there have been better pre-order offers than 33% off). The first DLC should be out by December, which given their $10 price tag, $5.62 is a higher discount!

Just helping you justify buying it now. :whiste:

Was worried GMG wouldn't sell the Season Pass before their latest coupon expires :D Soo buying this once I'm back home - I'd buy the DLC anyway!

IGN posted their review (9.0 score), and I understand one of their cons, but the other... I'm not so sure that I agree with it. They complained about the lack of character customization apart from the heads/skins that Gearbox added. Heads and skins might be interesting, but the only time that you ever see your character is in the menus. Ultimately, you stare at their hands for most of the game, which means you would rarely see your customization.

The fact that you can pre-load it makes me wish that they would deliver the retail game on Monday. :( It's not like we can play it until Tuesday since it's a Steamworks game.

I'm seriously considering taking an extra long weekend for this. Can't wait, started my preload. The gaming world hates my free time, releasing this and Torchlight 2 the same week.

Can you imagine the outcry if that happened? Tens or hundreds of thousands of people bought the game, took it home but can't play "because it's not unlocked yet on Steam". "I BOUGHT THE GAME ON A DVD, I WANT TO PLAY IT NOW!", etc etc

Man, that would be a total disaster...

Plus, why would you want to pre-load? Sure, you save a few minutes (like what, 10-15?) by not having to install from the DVD. But when you get home with your box, just pop the DVD in and use it to install the game.
