Creature Slaughter Dome and Collector's Edition Pack were released on Steam today... does that count? :p

Technically yes, but that rather dissapointing. Gearbox has spoiled me.
I don't think we will be getting anything till January or February, but you never know.

Back when they were talking about DLC2, it sounded like they were already pretty far along on DLC3.

Thanks, I will try to still use it when I get home from work. Just wish I could get some better drops in the game. Even my orange items suck. At level 50 I got two orange sniper rifles to drop from Saturn: one had 9k and one 12K damage. Pretty lame if you ask me. A lot of blues and purples are better than that. Even the red chest in Fyrestone gives me mostly greens.

There's been a little information leaked about the next DLC (similar to the last one):
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/12/13/borderlands-2-hammerlock-dlc-revealed-by-trophies

It's called Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt

Well, there's almost always been weapons that are considered better than all others. You just really need to get one of those, and hopefully Gearbox won't nerf it. :p

It's called Invader. It's probably one of the worst oranges in the game. Most other oranges are very good.

Figures. Pretty much the same kind of luck I had last time I went to the casino!! Kind of like getting 15 free spins and not winning anything on them. LoL

Well, at least they are 250K dollars apiece, so i just stored them in the safe in Sanctuary to keep to sell in case I run out of money.

I would not say bad luck. Saturn only drops the Invader as legendary. Each boss drops his own legendary. Also, Saturn has a very low drop rate on his legendary when compared to many other bosses.

Instead you should go farm bosses with better legendaries.

Here is a very nice legendary guide for Borderlands 2 http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyh8F7oMOE2TjOlTSVDHwB8u6v8UoVG4B&feature=plpp

I rarely, if ever, play a game more than once after beating it. This is truly a rare exception and for some reason has held my interest. I like the continual search for weapons, but there is enough skill involved that it's not 100% gear dependent (like D3).

The only bad part is that there are some "normal" mobs that are ridonkulous to attempt to beat on your own (i.e. Super Badass Pyre Thresher) and then the raid bosses require you to... *gasp* have friends!

I do wish that Gearbox would be more willing to fix imbalance issues that are negatively affecting the player rather than only fixing what is positive for the player. A good example is how it can be rather hard to beat a boss that is actually at your level and nigh impossible without cheating. Go check back a dozen or so pages for my ranting on the Gluttonous Thresher with my Mechromancer for a good example. :p The thing is... Borderlands 1 had this same problem, and Gearbox never fixed it. Bonehead during playthrough 1 is probably the most egregious example of it. I recently gave the GOTY to two friends, and both of them asked me, "How are you supposed to beat Bonehead?"

I played through on normal difficulty and TVH mode as a siren and have just started a new commando character. Every so often I get bored or frustrated and quit for a few days but then come back to it. It is really addictive to keep trying to find good weapons.

BL1: I think the Bonehead mission shows up too soon, while you're still a 2-4 levels below him. I remember not paying attention to the level with my second or third character, and getting smashed good a couple of times. Then I looked at the quest -- oh, I'm 2 levels below, no wonder!

I had something similar happen with my mechromancer in BL2 -- I was trying to complete the mission to get the beacon for Sanctuary at 1 level below the level, and the boss guarding it was slapping me silly. I retreated and killed a few stalkers, leveled up and made it. It's still a tough fight on-level though.

Yeah. I mean... it's a story mission, so you're getting it at the right time, but it's just too high of a level.

Was that on playthrough 1 or 2? That's the same place that I had trouble with my Mechromancer on playthrough 2, but I was skipping the side quests, so I was 2 levels below the boss. I guess I'm just used to WoW where as long as you're not 3 below the target's level, you're probably fine. I leveled up to the same level as the boss, and he could still destroy me so easily. I actually had to spend multiple days grinding out levels to out-level him by 2 levels just to beat him. :\

It just makes me wonder why Gearbox never fixes any of these strangely overtuned situations, but they're quick to fix overtuned weapons/shields. People actually had fun using Bee + Conference Call, so they nerf it, and people got annoyed at the huge thresher boss, so they leave it alone. Sounds great! :p

what is the "Creature Slaughter Dome" i saw was announced somewhere?

Came with preorder, but essentially it's nothing worth playing. Now, they are changing $5 for it, and even the diehard BL fans are saying don't buy it because it doesn't really add anything to the game.

Its just like the bandit or hyperion slaughter dome, 5 rounds of animals. It can be pretty challenging, but all you get is a miss moxxi's rocket launcher. The other day we got vermi to spawn there, vermi + 1 ultimate badass varkid was way to much for a group of level 44's to handle.

You may be able to unlock it by joining someones game that has it, not sure though. Like the other poster said its not worth $5 though.

Is it just me or do most of the weapons in Borderlands 2 suck really?

Seriously the best weapon in the game is the infinity pistol I think. Although it shoots in an annoyingly figure 8 pattern.

The sniper rifles all blow ass. The only one that really hits hard is the skullthumper, but it's recoil and re-centering time frame sucks balls. Very few sniper rifles have great accuracy, low recoil, and fast recentering. Actually, I can't think of any that have all 3 of those together. Then factor in damage, and they all blow.

Magazine size is another issue in this game. Borderlands we had the ammo regen trait on some weapons, and there were weapons with massive magazine size. Now most weapons are paltry on mag size and typically most consume more than 1 ammo per shot. The ammo regen trait is also gone.

Basically out of all the weapons in the game, these are basically the "best" of each type.

Sniper: Skullthumper

Pistol: Infinity

Shotgun: Conference Call

SMG: Rising Bitch

Assault Rifle: Hammer Buster

Rocket: Either Nukem or Badaboom

Basically all the rest suck in comparison and even those suck in comparison to the best Borderland 1 weapons.

Even the mods/talents are mostly craptacular in comparison to borderlands 1.

the newer DLC stuff is mostly junk.

Incase anyone wants to know, there is a gear builder out there to let you see everything in the game gear wise.

http://thegearcalculator.appspot.com

Overall, there is far less gear combinations for Borderlands 2 than there were for 1, with every thing less powerful over all as well.

One thing I liked to do with borderlands 1 after I had beat it several times, was go through the save game editor and edit all parts of various weapons. I was categorizing each part and what it did stat wise for each item. There was quite a bit of variation that isn't in the current game.

Funny....I look at that list, and think "Nope, most of those 'best' weapons you've listed are just ok. Hammer buster is good. Infinity is flat out inferior to Maggie. Give me a Bison and Sandhawk over Skullmasher and Bitch any day. Conference Call lost most of it's luster in the Bee nerf, and Zero's just flat out better then Mordecai."

....You played as Lilith in BL1, didn't you?

Shift Codes posted to facbook, apparently good for 5 keys:
PC / Mac: WT5TB-XC5ZC-CX3T3-BBT3B-B35WB
Xbox 360: W3KTJ-FZ9CS-XS6BR-K6JJ3-XCFXT
PlayStation 3: WTWBJ-HKZ9C-TCCWB-ZT5JJ-6HRZS

I only saw the PS3 ones on twitter, but they matched the FB ones, so I imagine this will be the only set given out. It says it will be active for a few days.

I have no idea how you can say infinity is inferior to any thing. You can just hold down the trigger and spray everything. You'll get crits in there and never have to worry about a reload speed or fire rate ever again. It's decently accurate and while the damage per shot isn't the highest of the pistols, it doesn't matter.

Bison Sniper? Do you mean the blue Buffalo gun from Jacobs? How is it superior? Reload same, mag same, damage worse, fire rate about same, recoil worse, re-zero worse, and accuracy a bit better when not zoomed in. I fail to see how that's better.

How is Sand hawk better than Bitch? Less damage per shot bit a lot. Smaller Magazine, way less accurate, slower fire rate, slower reload, and basically all you get extra from it is bonus melee damage.

You smoking crack if you think any of the weapons I listed have anything better than them for their respective categories in BL2. Just look at the build calculator I linked above to compare the stats directly.

People have their favorites based on the way they play. I have found that my favorite legendaries are different than the ones I ha e read others talking about. In fact I don't even like using many of their favorites, since we have different play styles.

Because the enemies actually shoot back? Spray and pray & hope they don't kill you first is a terrible plan. Much much better to have a high spike damage up front, and have the enemy be dead then to sit there tossing out rounds while they shoot back. And why you'd ever consider using a pistol for that boggles my mind. Shrediffier.

Higher crit damage, wonderful accuracy, a high zoom with no scope to blind you from threats. It's a sniper rifle - recoil is irrelevant, you shouldn't trying to fire off shots as quick as possible. Mag size - also of very limited relevance. Between Fast Hands and The Killer, I reload the gun faster then the refire rate.

How is Sand hawk better than Bitch? Less damage per shot bit a lot. Smaller Magazine, way less accurate, slower fire rate, slower reload, and basically all you get extra from it is bonus melee damage.
Have you ever actually, you know, used it? 9 round burst, every round affected by boosts like the bee, every round causes elemental effects. Pop up, 1 burst, back in cover, my shield isn't getting hit, and the enemy is dying. Plus, Bitch is a Hyperion weapon, which means that it's not actually accurate at all til you've been firing it for 2 seconds straight. Spray and Pray and hope they don't kill you before the stabilizers kick in and you can actually hit something. Hyperion weapons suck.

You smoking crack if you think any of the weapons I listed have anything better than them for their respective categories in BL2. Just look at the build calculator I linked above to compare the stats directly.

I don't have to look at any calculator, I've *used* them. Then tossed them right back in the vault.
