Unless I'm missing something, all of those people (including myself) got TOTALLY SCREWED! I bought one of those codes, and steam is saying I don't own the Mechromancer DLC. So that means everybody who got the game free with their card got screwed too. I'm sure the people who got the game truly free with a card don't feel as bad but I feel slapped across the face.

No. nVidia stated that the Borderlands 2 codes would not count as a pre-order. Well, at least it was stated on the Gearbox forums. :p

Finally beat the first playthrough.
A little disappointed at how easy it was at Level 34 Commando. A bit anti-climatic too, but I liked the discovery of all the vaults on other planets. Borderlands 3, anyone?

Vault Hunter Mode is giving me a good challenge so far, though. Boom-Bewm kiled me twice.

Yeah...I think I finished playthrough1 as an assassin at either level 29 or 30 and it got a bit ridiculous at the end lol.

Finished the first play-though with Axton,

I've noticed that on all of the boss levels there seemed to always be safe areas that you can shoot from and take almost no damage. I also upgraded the turret to get the nuke, and it has been a pretty fun, although probably game breaking unlock.

so I'm about 1/3 way through vault hunter mode and the drops so far seem absolutely horrible...I don't think I've used a single item.

I'm tempted to try out that tree, but the idea of sacrificing accuracy just makes me cringe. I'm very acclimated to sitting back and picking off people from a distance, which typically requires accurate weapons of varying types. I'll need to be up in the fray to use weapons with diminished accuracy.

I haven't played around with her too much though, but anarchy doesn't seem to affect sniper rifles scoped accuracy? I had a stack up to 51 and didn't seem to be missing any shots (well not anymore than usual).

Also I guess there was a bunch of information in the mechromancer files about the next DLC. Sounds promising.

I suppose on a general level thats true. But Gaige has a rather unique skill tree called Anarchy. Every time you run your gun out of ammo and reload it builds up a anarchy stack. Your damage increases but accuracy decreases w/each stack.
Reloading while partly full kills your stack. Later on you can get skills which let you trade in some of your accumalted stack for healing and other things. In the end you get this weird mini game where you are trying to manage your anarchy stack. Plus its damn hard remembering not to reload all the time.

Anarchy kills the idea of Tediore guns with her.

So I run this game in 1920x1200 everything maxed out in game. Vsync Off and Frame Limiter on unlimited. Using 2x GTX 670 in SLI, second card dedicated for PhysX.

Sometimes in intense battles the FPS drops down in the 30's.

There is many threads about this with regards to GTX 6xx cards, while users with a single GTX 560Ti etc. are reporting never dropping below 60FPS and stuff. Rumors also say that Gearbox is working on a performance patch for this game.

I use MSI On-Screen display to monitor FPS at all times.

So any opinions in this matter?

Don't use the second card as dedicated physX imo. I never drop below 60 frames on a single 570. I have PhysX on medium though because I don't like it any higher than that.

Should I use the CPU for PhysX? When in SLI it is advised to use the second card for both SLI and PhysX

You said it was dedicated PhysX, but it shouldn't matter as one 670 should be more than enough. Either way, I would set PhysX to medium and not use a card as a dedicated PhysX card.

How? I have a 570 too and Phys x wasn't even an option for me. I dug into an ini file and force enabled it, and then quickly found out why it was greyed out.

I run BL2 in window mode at 1920x1200 with a single gtx 670 and haven't noticed any frame rate drops while playing with max settings and slightly wider FoV. I'll have to load up fraps for an fps monitor to see if it's only because I'm old and my eyes don't notice it.

Dunno? I have a pretty badass non-reference 570 with a decent OC? I run everything maxed out at a 1920x1200, with PhysX on medium.

I run 2 670's as well but I play at 5760x1200. I have Physx set to high and I have yet to see the fps drop under 43 or so and this is at roughly 3x the pixel count of 19x12. I have my NV control panel set to Auto-select for Physx, I have no idea which card it chooses to do it but it doesn't dedicate either of them and I can run Physx on high just fine.

Anarchy kills the idea of Tediore guns with her.

I don't know. Tediore reloads quickest of all guns, so your just giving up the tediore gun into super grenade option but potentially getting faster stacks of Anarchy. Would have to experiment more with her, but I am having to much fun playing maya atm to be bothered.

Single GTX 670 here and it runs great at 1080p.

Physx high and all other options at max settings.

22-60 FPS Smoothing looks and feels great to me. I haven't tried any of the other framerate settings.

I disabled "Depth of Field", as I find it annoying. That tends to make things blurry that aren't in the foreground, and I'm just not a fan of it (I had it disabled while playing BL1 too). I think that effect may enhance eyestrain for some people. With that disabled, I feel like I can better "see" everything that's going on.

That shouldn't make a difference as I believe BL2 enables/disables that option based on the card, not the clocks. Is there something in the Nvidia control panel you have set up for phys x?

edit: what drivers are you using?

I never tweaked anything, and PhysX has always been an option for me in every game I've played that offers it. I'm using relatively old Nvidia drivers (8.17.12.8562).

Huh... scrounging the net I'm finding more and more people with my same issue and none of the remedies are working for me. Some believe it's an Nvidia driver issue that needs to be fixed, some got it working with driver cleaners and reinstalls, some say install physx on its own, and all sorts of stuff. I don't know why I can't get it to work but I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out what's wrong. It's not isolated to my card either.
