Hmm apparently, Goliaths cannot "ding" off of each other. What a bummer... I was having fun watching two Raging Goliaths (one was already a Badass) fight each other. I want to fight a GOD-liath. :D

you can. (on pc)

Really? I tried but it didn't work. I'll have to try again!

Ugh, I got the first Golden Key that had 100 uses that Randy tweeted. It was supposed to include 10 keys, but it didn't. He tweeted another one, and I was on that rather quickly. I had Borderlands on the key entry screen and my browser is on my second monitor. Unfortunately, I guess I wasn't fast enough that time. Too bad you can't copy and paste codes in. :(

Probably not.

I copy and pasted the code posted above in the game. Copy the whole code and paste in the first field in game and it worked.

Yeah I've been trying to get that achievement too, but keep running out of dudes for them to attack and end up having to kill them. :\

If you're at the end of an area and forced to walk back to a Fast Travel station, I do what the other user mentioned and simply quit the game (it saves when you quit). If you load the game back up, it spawns you at a Fast Travel station.

Compared to some games, the penalty in Borderlands is rather lax. You also even get a chance to save yourself or have a teammate resurrect you. I actually died twice to Mad Mike yesterday, because I was trying to avoid him thinking he was one of the ninja turtles. There's a badass objective to kill them in the right order (I assume it's Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo as that's the order from the cartoon opening theme), and my goodness... that guy can kill you rather quickly with his rocket launcher. I only lost about 1.3k with each death and I have around 20k right now. Not a big deal.

You know... I'm not really having nearly as much of a problem with Maya as before. While I would still love to get my hands on a Mind Games talent, I'm doing a lot better now with some of my guns. Of course, there are still some shitty situations that the game puts you in. For example, I lit the volleyball net on fire then the three shirtless dudes come out and just destroy me before I can even react. :|

Although, when I can pull my signature Matrix-style jump kills, then you know the game has reached that point where it's not too hard. :p That's usually where some stupid mob is hiding behind cover, I run up to the cover, jump over it, aim down and fill 'im up with lead. It usually then involves killing whatever else is in the area since I probably just jumped into a hot zone, but man... it sure is a lot of fun!

While writing that, it came to me that what I'm talking about is the difference between Torchlight II and Diablo III. In Torchlight II, you tend to run into large hordes of monsters and not all of them are that strong. So, you tend to be the proverbial hot knife and they're the butter, but sometimes there are a few powerful ones that you need to be aware of. I think Borderlands 2 is more like Diablo III where you don't get many hordes but a modest sprinkling of mobs around the map. Also, like Diablo III, the maps in Borderlands 2 are too big.

Enemies will respawn if you leave the game and come back. They will also eventually respawn if you take too long in an area. I was backtracking a lot in the Bloodshot Hideout and I definitely ran into respawns eventually. :p

EDIT:

Does anyone know if there's a way to increase the shared stash size? The fact that it's only four slots is pretty terrible! :|

I have been using the technique of quitting and reloading. It works if you finish the quest, but if you get killed and dont finish you respawn at the transit station but then have to walk to the place where the quest takes place. Still a useful technique though.

I play only single player, so being revived by a teammate is not useful to me. There is even one whole part of the siren tree that I have to go through that is about healing your party that will not be useful to me, but there are skills below it that I really want.

I guess the death penalty is not severe compared to some games, but it basically forces you to quit after getting killed a couple of times and go back and grind some more.

I am also having a bit better luck with Maya now that I have a good shield and a health regen class mod. When do you get corrosive weapons? I am level 12 now and have not got one dropped or cant even buy one. For all the publicity about all the bazillion more guns, it would sure be nice to get a good one dropped. I cant seem to get anything with good damage except a shotgun that dropped early on.

Try the area just past the Incinerator Cult quests near the beginning of the game. Think it's called Blisterpus Camp. I got it there on second try.

Aside from a random weapon of the day, I didn't see any until level 15+.

Really, yeah it sucks to loose a couple grand when you die but at this point how much savings do you need to be running around with? Im ~lvl 20 and the most expensive thing I have found to buy thus far has been <$3k. If you run around with $70k+ that rez bill will hurt more but if you are done tipping Moxxie, gamble your way down to $10K that way you get value for your money and should you unfortunately die it will cost you 2-5 trash items to pay the bill.

The first time you tip her $10000 you get an achievement and a badass rank. Each additional time you tip her $10000, you get a weapon

The music and dialogue/voice acting/character design in BL2 have been great so far. It's what really makes the game for me. My friends and I have literally died laughing at a few points, it's both better than BL1 and really good on it's own.

The game itself though is pretty much the same I think. I feel like there's more invisible walls and less exploration (hidden chests on a distant rooftop kind of thing) which is a bummer. I kind of liked the old gun skill system personally, made the characters feel more differentiated and made it easier to split loot lol. Also it seems much much of the early game is best played with sniper rifles, but the alternatives are catching up slowly at 15-20 it feels.

Corrosive shield + Rakk attack = hilarious.
You just stand there, wait for them to hit you (which doesn't do much damage) and they die around you.
:)
I'm loving some of the guns. The plasma type weapons are especially great. I found one a while back, and it's STILL killing everything faster than anything else I've found. (except for the fact that it's a fire gun, so loses alot of power against fire types like Flynt.)

On the weapon cards whats the meaning of the damage stat? Is this DPSecond or DPShot? Im thinking its per second or there is some important info left off the cards. I had 2 sniper rifles the other day 147 damage ~1.2 fire rate 5 rounds and a 158 damage 3 fire rate 10 rounds. Both were electric and were very similar in other stats. The slower firing gun was hitting for 2-3 times more displayed damage per shot than the faster gun.

I'm exploring alot more in BL2 than BL1, mostly because of all the hidden challenges.

I agree that the music and voice acting is much better. Still mad that we can't replay dialouge. Some the things Jack says is hilarious.

I found a shotgun at level 28 that has been completely annihilating stuff. I have another good shotgun but if I dual wield 2 shotguns I find I run out of shotgun shells very quick.

I am still liking Salavador much more than Zero. I find Zero's skill to be of little use, don't know if I am playing him wrong but whats the point of doing a bunch of extra damage to one target one time with a cooldown when you can totally blow away a target gunzerking in its face.

I am level 38 and I just now opened the gold chest. Got a smg that is killing most things in 1 or two bursts and a sniper rifle that does 4k per hit now. Granted I did not progress with any quests since then (just randomly tested the weapons) but it seems way overpowered for the weaker stuff around.

I'm positive it's damage per projectile/shot. You may have been shooting different parts of the body and/or getting critical hits which would explain the damage variation.

That was my impression as well. Which is why high RoF weapons like SMGs and automatic pistols generally have a low damage listed. If it was DPS(econd) it would be more inline with what you see from sniper and assault rifles.

actually that would make sense as for shotguns, it says 50x6 or whatever

You should respawn at the last save point that you reached.

Why would you need to go grind more?

I am also having a bit better luck with Maya now that I have a good shield and a health regen class mod.

I'm still using my Fire Rate class mod which also gives me +2 Kinetic Reflection. It amused me greatly when I saw the game say that I was working on my SMG kill badass tally. I looked at the game with a puzzled stare, and said, "Wait a minute... I'm using an Assault Rifle!?" Then I realized... the enemy killed himself with his own SMG using Kinetic Reflection.

One of the biggest things is just getting a shield with a quick recharge rate. I decided to not worry as much about it since I have the shield regen on kill talent (note: I still recommend worrying about it even with that talent... I'm just being ballsy). Also, keep a corrosive immunity shield in your bag... you will really want it when you go to meet up with the Crimson Raiders' spy. There's a side-quest from Hammerlock to mutate some varkids, and it creates this Badass Varkid that shoots corrosive goo. He flippin' beats the crap out of me so easily that I killed all of them using Second Wind.

I have a good Assault Rifle, but the problem is that it is more like a mini-gun, so it takes time to get moving. But man... it fires explosive bullets that are great against shielded targets (second to Corrosive) like Nomads.

When do you get corrosive weapons? I am level 12 now and have not got one dropped or cant even buy one. For all the publicity about all the bazillion more guns, it would sure be nice to get a good one dropped. I cant seem to get anything with good damage except a shotgun that dropped early on.

I think I started getting them around your level. I found an e-tech infused corrosive SMG when I was in the dam. Tiny Tina gives you a corrosive pistol that I've actually taken a liking to.

Yeah I've been trying to get that achievement too, but keep running out of dudes for them to attack and end up having to kill them. :\

If there's an area near you with more enemies, but not super close... you can always drag the guy to that area. Enemies are pretty good about not leashing as long as you fire at them (you don't really have to hit them).

The first time you tip her $10000 you get an achievement and a badass rank. Each additional time you tip her $10000, you get a weapon

Hmm I didn't know that. I've just used the slot machines. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten 2x triple eridium + something else.

Understatement right here folks.

Also is anyone else completely underwhelmed with assault rifles in this game? In Borderlands my assault rifles were freaking amazing but in BL2 I find myself using sniper rifles almost exclusively and my shotty when several things get up close and personal. I keep a fire elemental SMG on standby for things like Super Badass Maniacs that you just cannot allow yourself to get hit by.

I love Tiny Tina. You get to learn a bit more about her as you progress farther as well, mainly about her past but not too much.

Seriously? I was completely disappointed with assault rifles in the first one. Even as Roland, I found myself using every other type of weapon more than the assault rifle. Fire SMGs and corrosive pistols were brutal. Assault rifles were pretty weak, IMO. I've found them somewhat better in BL2.

I use a Torgue one quite a bit. I'll take a screenshot of it later. It's not great (accuracy could be higher), but I've had good results with it. It fires explosive rounds, which make it very versatile. Nomad with a shield? Just keep shooting.
