"boneless" chicken wings

When I eat real wings I just rip one end off, stick it in my mouth and pull the bones out. The bones never touch my tongue, so if they have any taste ( 😕 ) I wouldn't know the difference.

Boneless wings are easier to eat and taste just as good.

HOW DARE YOU!

all flappers for easier eatin...

Yep. Twist, break the joint. Pull out the smaller bone leaving yummy meat and tissue on the bigger bone. Put that in your mouth and suck/chew all the meat off in one big bite, pull cleaned bone out.

The whole move to twist, break, bite, suck takes like 3 seconds.

This.

Chicken wings fear me.

The flavor of a chicken wing comes from gnawing on the bone and all the wonderful connective tissue and fat stores. Pulling and tearing it with your canines, using your incisors to trim the last bit of bone sucking goodness of flavor.

A big fail on the boneless chicken wing in my book.

I actually LOVE boneless chicken wings, I feel like I get more meat at a time than with a traditional chicken wing, especially the tiny ass costco ones which seem like chicken wings from a chick and not a chicken. If it's a big chicken wing, I don't care so much, otherwise, I'll choose the boneless because of the more meat I get at a time.

yeah, they aren't chicken wings. Are they even wing meat? i always thought it was a nugget-type meat pressing. The typical "contains x% rib meat."

fucking disgusting.

honestly, if you don't like bones in your meat, then you don't like meat.

the taste that bone imparts to meat happens during the cooking process. whether or not you touch the bone, the taste is already in the meat. HUGE difference.

what kind of madman would cook a nice stew or beef soup without a honking fat chunk of bone simmering in the base?

That's like saying you don't like to taste. It doesn't make sense.

I'm pretty sure when it comes to wings most of the flavor comes from the sauce that they are mixed in.

Trying to claim that the cartilage and fat adds some nuance in flavor when they are coated with stuff to make them hot as hell is a little untruthful.

YES! boneless wings are the tool of the devil... "hey here's a mcdonalds chicken nugget dipped in red sauce" = fail

If you read the OP, his rant is just on "boneless chicken wings"; no mention of spicy, buffalo or any other seasoning.

Ah, well fair enough. When me and my buddies always talking about "wing night" or just getting some wings they are always spicy Buffalo style wings. Guess I just had that on the mind.

So with that being said, ordering tons of plain wings to eat doesn't sound so appetizing.

I'm with spidey on this one. well, maybe not on the taste part.. but there's just something more satisfying with the whole process. that and in my experience, boneless tends to be more dry.

curious, those that like boneless, do you like eating crabs?

What the hell? That tissue/fat is what gives them their flavor. Otherwise you're just eating chicken with hot sauce on it.

It's not a nuance of flavor - it IS what makes a chicken wing. The sauce just adds to it. Wings with no sauce are pretty damn good.

Have you tried to debone a chicken wing like you would a thigh? What you wind up with is a small pile of meat that wouldn't even be a bite.

thing is, I can't tolerate the quality/texture of the boneless "meat." It's certainly not a natural part of any animal. Bits and pieces strewn together that never had any business being near each other.

There is no such thing as "boneless" wings.
"Boneless" wings are chicken nuggets with sauce on them.
Anyone who calls chicken nuggets with sauce on them "boneless wings" is a total jackass.

Chicken nuggets with sauce on them aren't comparable with real chicken wings.
If you think they are, go wipe your vagina and call up pizza hut for another order of your breaded chicken shins.

I mechanically separate it with my incisors and canines. WTF you talking about?

Yeah real wings are better. Any breaded chicken tossed in sauce is pretty good though. Man we really need some kind of restaurant that specializes in wings around here.
