$85-95, normally equipped. I believe fully optioned gets up above $100k. This is ignoring the issue of dealer markups.

I just saw one last night in Manhattan. I'd never seen the new one before. The dude almost crashed his new car into a cab that was in its blind spot. I was cringing when he did it.
everything's fair game when you drive the streets of Manhattan. I'd cringe at bringing a car like that there... those people with the nice cars on those streets either don't care about their car or have too much money.

Which is why I just stay in the center lane and drive straight. 🙂

I never did get much into the "drool over cars I'm not likely to ever afford" (ok I could afford an M5 but no way in heck am I paying 50 or 80K for a car). Always kinda reminded me of the girls in high school mooning over (back then) Jon Bon Jovi or Bret Micheals.

Sitting in my driveway is a 0-60 in 5.4 second, 1/4 mile in 13.7 second (stock) vehicle. I've pulled 9.01 second 1/8 mile runs on a lark, just going down to the local drag strip on "tune and test" days when you pay $20 and can run as often as you want to line up. It's no BMW M5 I guess but I don't have to drool over it in magazines I just grab my keys and hit the road and enjoy it first hand whenever I get the urge 🙂

And the best part? It's a truck!

The bugatti is awesome btw.. No way I'm denying that.

Yeah, it can go from 0 to 60 MPH in 2.46 seconds and has a electronically-limited top speed of 253 MPH. But it is as wide as a school bus and from what I've read it doesn't handle that great on curvy roads.

with racing slicks...no way that car can do that with street tires...

Street tyres, actually:

"The tyres are unique Michelin PAX run-flats and, with a 365 section at the back, are by far the fattest ever to be used on a road car."

It's also AWD.

hehehehehe. I was pleasantly surprised by the Dodge Charger. Seen that on the road for the first time yesterday.

Where the heck did that comment come from?

I think it's a great car and all, but if I had to find something to put a 500HP, high revving, low torque F1 style V10 with a paddle shifted trans, it wouldn't be a 4 door 4000lb sedan.... but that's just me. It really sounds like a configuration out of a Ferrari-fighter rather than the successor to the older torquey muscle car style M5. Still a nasty car though.

It's a bit 'done' though. If you want an ultimate sports car, you can get it. The Konnigsegg, the Zonda, the Lamborgini, the Ferrari, the Porsche, the X, Y, and the Z.

Now try the current crop of Ultimate four door sports cars:

- Scaglietti(sp)
- Quattro Porte
- E55 AMG (and I'm being generous here)
- M5

What else? Nothing. The M5 is easily the cheapest of the bunch (I'm still not sure about the fact I included the E55...) and so I would say it really does have a place.

Also, don't forget that BMW don't have a suitable platform for the motor other than the five.

  1. Yeah, it could almost keep up with a 38 year old domestic.

Funny, it has 4 doors, a roof, and can be lived with on a daily basis. How you could even compare these two cars is baffling, Ornery.
